I Present To You. Dun Dun:
Hidden Waves
Chapter One
Max P.O.V
Dirt and loose graveled kicked up and flew everywhere as my silver bike flew down the little path.
Hey I'm Max. Short for Maximum Ride. Yeah, just call me Max. Unless you want your face blown off. Your decision. I'm 15 years old and I live on a little island, where my mom works as a vet.
Speaking of my mom…
Looking down at my green plastic watch, I cursed and slammed on the brakes. Dropping the bike to the ground, I sprinted up the steps to my family's little wood house. I skidded through the front door, barley missing my mom.
"Early by one minute" She said as we high fived. Her name's Valencia Martinez, Aka Dr. Martinez or you know, mom.
"Swinging in the jungle again?" She asked as we walked into the kitchen and pointed at my dirt streaked clothes. I rolled my eyes and sat down at the makeshift table.
"What..." She was cut off by the annoying loud ring of my cell phone. I shot her a sorry look and pressed the answer call button.
"Max, there's trouble at the falls" My best friend, Ace, voice cute through the static on the phone. I shot to my feet, knocking over a chair in the process.
"Be there soon" I hung up and shoved my phone in my pocket. Turing around I shot through the back door. My converse clad feet pounded against the dirt as I sprinted to the falls. The falls was this cool water fall on the edge of the island. Sparkling green-blue water falls down the rocks, leading into a small pond. A great place to swim in the summer.
"Max, RUN!" I heard Ace scream before I heard the angry sound of a gunshot. Ice began to freeze my insides, setting charge to the fire. I sprinted the remaining fifteen feet before skidding to a stop. At my feet, there was Ace, looking close to dead with a bullet wound in his side. I couldn't help the blood curdling scream coming from my lip as I sunk to my knees.
Reaching down I ripped a long piece off my yellow tank-top, so that my stomach showed. But I didn't car. I placed the make-shift bandage on Ace's side and put pressure on it. Hearing movement, my head shot to the left. A boy, maybe the age of eighteen, was standing on the edge of the forest, with a black pistol in his hand. He smirked at me and waved.
"You will die" I growled, power charging through those three little words. His body went ridged before sprinting off into the forest.
That's the day my life changed forever.
