My Turn
Pein, who destroyed all that I knew and fought for, encased my best friend and teammate in the rock and rumble that once was our beloved village.
As far as I knew there was only six tails, 'Six tails, only six tails, God, no more… no more tails,' I pleaded inwardly. His name was on my lips before I knew what I was doing; I could feel the strain on my dry throat as the scream ripped from my mouth.
I didn't know what I was doing; maybe I did somewhere in the back of my head, but at that moment all I saw was the giant sphere as it floated above us all. I ran. Faster and faster I went trying to get to what ever was happening.
Behind me I heard the terrified yell of the Hyuuga; the jarring of debris, the rustling of fabric, as the ANBU moved to run after me. I couldn't let them hold me back. Hinata went after him, she, who is not his teammate, his best friend, defended him.
'Naruto, Naruto, its my turn, has been my turn…'
A roar so loud, oh so loud, pierced the air with its rage and from the sphere an eight tailed, 'No! Eight tails, Gods, eight tails', Kyuubi broke through the rock.
I stopped.
My eyes so wide, tears running down my face, fear trembled through my body, shaking me to the core.
Fear of loosing him, fear of never seeing his bright smile ever again, fear of never hearing boisterously called 'Sakura-chan!' scared the living shit out of me. To hell with Sasuke, to hell with the Aaktsuki, Orochimaru, Pein and Kyuubi, leave him alone. Leave the boy, with so much love and so much heart, alone.
I couldn't let this be all. No! I still needed him; I still had things I wanted to say. The story, his story, was not finished. The hero gets the happy ending, 'Give him his ever after!'
Yet again my body acted on its' own and before I knew what was going to happen his name, for the last time, 'Gods please no, never the last, always the first', rushed from my dry lips.
"NARUTO!"

Authors Note: I seriously don't know where this one came from. One minute I finish reading the never chapter of Naruto the next I'm writing this. Well, yeah, hoped you liked it anyhow.
