My first Twi-fic ever. Hope you like it. I didn't include their names in the story because I wanted it to be a bit mysterious, though you know it's about Bella and Edward.
Not beta read. If you find any mistakes please tell me!
First sentence might sounds familiar for those who know the song "The Man With The Child In His Eyes" by Kate Bush. It's partly taken from that song.
She realises he's there when she turns the light of and turns over. She knows it's him, she can somehow feel his presence, his eyes never leaving her nearly-sleeping figure. He does this often. She got used to it. He thinks she doesn't know. She does, though.
Maybe he'll be there again tomorrow. Maybe he won't. She knows he enjoys it, watching her sleep. Or pretending to be asleep. In a way, she wants him to be there every night. No, scrap that, she wants him to be there with her every night. She feels safe when he's there, but she also feels vulnerable. When she wakes up early in the morning and she notices he's not there anymore, she feels lonely. Left alone.
Whenever she turns the light on again, she knows he will be gone. So she doesn't.
Every single time, he has left her room by the time she wakes up. He has disappeared through the window. Only once, he left it open. It was a mistake. When she woke up in the morning the wind was blowing the curtains into the room.
Sometimes she wants herself to wake up and ask him to stay till the morning comes.
But she can't. She won't.
If he's a voyeur, she would be an exhibitionist.
He likes to watch. She likes being watched.
But she only likes to be watched by him.
