Those are the days when even Riku fails to get through to him (Kairi had started failing quite some time ago), and when nothing can tame, not till he creates distance.
And those are the days he sits on his edge of the beach in silence, watching bonfires dance vividly against midnight sky, red and black and black and red. Sora stares until the flames burn themselves into his irises—finallyfinally, feeling the Other exhale—so that when he closes his eyes, the warmth remains.
