Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon, the concept, or its characters. They belong to Bandai, Toei Animation, Saban... maybe others as well. I'm merely using them for my own personal enjoyment. Please don't sue
Notes: Written as a "10-minute drabble challenge" with a friend on the 24th. I like my crack pairings, yes.
Set somewhere towards/after the end of the series. And not sure how I feel overall about this one, but… (shrugs)

His Voice
By: Daystar-chan
It was no secret that Ishida Yamato had a beautiful voice. (One-sided Miyato, mentioned Sorato)

It was no secret that Ishida Yamato had a beautiful voice. His ability to sing, combined with his good looks, had earned him a scarily large fanbase over the last few years.
Miyako had known of his singing talent before most people. She was a tender eleven when she'd met Koushirou at school; through him, she had met Yamato, and the blond had been impressed that she, like Koushirou, could handle computers so well. She had helped his band a lot when they needed mixing done for their songs, and Yamato was grateful to her.
She had never really spoken to Yamato outside of that. They had next to nothing in common; and she knew how much he hated people who just sat there and babbled about anything they could think of. As much as she admired him, she couldn't bring herself to stand in his presence for too long without freaking out; and with that 'too cool' attitude he had at all times, she couldn't bring herself to start acting childish around him.
She thought he was wonderful; she wanted him to think the same of her.
But he didn't.
There was only a three-year age gap between them, but sometimes it felt like so much more. He held himself like an adult, acted so much older and wiser than he should've been at fourteen; Miyako thought she'd gain those things once she'd been through the Digital World as well, but she still felt like a child compared to him, even when it was over. And, somewhere, in the middle of all that, he'd told them all that he and Sora were an item.
It was no secret that Ishida Yamato had a beautiful voice.
She only wished it hadn't been the one to break her heart.
