DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST!

I am sure whoever is reading this watches Full Metal Alchemist, so I should not have to explain this to anyone.

Have you ever wondered where the creator of FMA got the names of the Humonculi, yes? Well, if you havn't, no matter. You are wondering now.

So, I am going to stop my rambling and tell you the answer.

PRIDE:

The virtue against which it sins-Humility.

Seeing yourself as you are and not comparing yourself to others is humility. Pride and vanity are competitive. If someone else's pride bothers you, you have a lot of pride.

Words from the cross:

"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

GREED:

The virtue against which it sins-Generosity.

This is about more than cash. Generosity means giving others the credit of praise. It is giving without having expectations of the other person. Greed wants to get its "fair share" or even a bit more.

Words from the cross:

"Father, into Your hands I command my spirit."

ENVY:

The virtue against which it sins-Love.

"Love is patient, love is kind..." Love actively seeks the good of others for themselves. Envy resents the good others receive or even might recieve. At times, Envy is almost indistinguishable from Pride.

Words from the cross:

"This day you shall be with me in paradise."

WRATH:

The virtue against which it sins-Kindness.

The meaning of kindness is taking the tender approach, with patience and compassion. Anger is often the first reaction to the problems of others. Impatience with the faults of others is related to this.

Words from the cross:

"Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."

LUST:

The virtue against which it sins-Self Control.

Self control and self mastery prevent pleasure from killing the soul by suffocation. Legitimate pleasures are controlled in the same way an athletes muscles are: for more efficiancy without damage. Lust is the self-destructive drive for pleasure out of proportion to its worth. Power, image, or sex can be used as well, but they tend to go out of control.

Words from the cross:

"Woman, behold you son, son behold your mother."

GLUTTONY:

The virtue against which it sins-Faith and Temperance.

Temperance accepts the natural limits of pleasures and preserves this natural balance. This does not pertain only to food, but to entertainment and other legitimate goods, and even the company of others.

Words from the cross:

"I thirst."

SLOTH:

The virtue against which it sins-Zeal.

Zeal is the energetic response of the heart to God's commands. The other sins work together to deaden the spiritual senses so first we become slow to respond to God and then drift into the sleep of complacency completely.

Words from the cross:

"It is finished."

Author's Note:

Well, I don't know about you, but to me it was an interesting thing to read. If you didn't think it was interesting, then you probably didn't get this far, so I am talking to no one. So, I guess I'll stop rambling, but before I do, whoever got this far, review, please. I hope you liked it.
