He turned left and padded down the hallway, his prefect badge gleaming under the dim light. His eyes darted around the corridor, looking out for students who were out after curfew. The female prefect who was suppose to be patrolling with him was probably sulking somewhere after being rejected.
Seth sneered to himself as he thought about their argument, about how she thought that after their one night stand, they were an item. She should've known better. After all, he was Seth Weasley and he didn't do love.
He walked down the stairs to the next floor and saw a girl sitting against the wall, hugging her knees to her chest. Seth's eyes narrowed as he made his way towards the girl to tell her off. He saw her stiffen slightly upon hearing his footsteps and looked up at him.
His eyes widened fractionally as he looked into her eyes. He recognized her from some of his classes, the ones he had to share with the Gryffindors. He stopped walking and loomed over her, not saying anything.
He remembered her late boyfriend, Gabriel whatshisname, who used to be his dorm mate.
"Git," Seth thought darkly as he remembered being called a blood traitor by that bastard of a death eater.
"Pardon?"
He snapped back to reality and looked back at the girl. She was now looking at him with an amused expression.
"You called me a git," Said the girl curiously.
"I was thinking of something that doesn't concern you." He lied coolly and ran his fingers through his dark hair, embarrassed at the fact that he had just voiced out his thoughts. Come to think of it, this was the first time, after almost seven years in Hogwarts that they had talked since she was usually with her boyfriend or alone, lost in thought.
Seth stood there awkwardly, not knowing what to say. ' I'm sorry that your death eater of a boyfriend died two years ago but hey, he was a git, so yeah maybe he deserved it' didn't deem as an appropriate conversation starter so he just stared at her, and she him.
" You should get back to your common room before Filch sees you. It's already past curfew and you shouldn't be out here. It's against the rules" He finally said and regretted his words. He was a prefect for crying out loud. He was being too lenient to her. He should be bringing her to the head of her house. But he didn't.
With a curt nod, Seth turned away from her and walked away and felt her eyes bore holes into the back of his head.
I mean, it wasn't like he cared about her.
It wasn't like he wanted to look into those pools of molten chocolate brown eyes forever
It wasn't like he wanted to run his long fingers through that soft brown hair
It wasn't like he found himself looking around the great hall for her every single day just to catch a glimpse of her face
It wasn't like he stared at the picture of her on his dorm mate's bedside table (back when he was still alive)
It wasn't like he dreamt about her sometimes (some of those dreams were quite inappropriate)
It wasn't like-
Seth looked back and saw the girl walking back to her dorm, her back facing him. His face softened slightly and he shook his head before he began to walk again. It wasn't like him at all.
After all, he was Seth Weasley and he didn't do love.
