bad things implied.
Mai stared after the cold hearted man as he walked away, his almost feminine frame easy to spot on the people diminishing street. After she had told him something like that, how could he just walk away?
She wanted to shout, tell him that it was always him, but the shock was to much. His final words, so pointed, condescending "me, or Gene?" Like she couldn't tell the difference. Like he had always known and was now mocking her.
Clichely, it was raining out. She shivered as she watched his black umbrella get farther and farther away. She was drenched, but if she moved, it would be real. She stands, still, as a small tear slips to the end of her nose. It falls to the ground, silent. Pat, pit pat.
She feels as if she doesn't have a heart anymore, simply because there is so much inside of her if she acknowledges its existence she will scream, collapse, or implode. Perhaps all three, she supposes. Pat, pitter pat.
There is a screech, and Mai turns just in time to see it barrel into her.
Naru POV:
A screech was heard over the sound of rain in pavement, followed by a sickening thump. Naru looked over his shoulder, grumbling.
"Stupid drivers, probably hit a pole," He thought idly as he glanced at the scene behind him. It took him a moment to realize what he was seeing. A white van had plowed into a pedestrian. A certain brown haired, tea making pedestrian.
His umbrella fell to the ground.
