Jack had come to the bar to get away from the trouble at home, away from Rose. He was far too drunk to remember how many rounds he had had, but he supposed that it didn't really matter.
"Last call pal." The bartender called to Jack.
Jack finished his drink, nodded and started to get up, stumbling as he did so.

You don't have to go home but you can't stay here
The barman could see that Jack was in rough shape and would clearly not be able to make it home by himself in his drunken state.
"Son, do you have someone to come and collect you?" He asked Jack.
Jack considered the question, immediately he thought of Rose, but he knew that she wouldn't be too happy to see him. Not after their fight, not after the things that were said.

The bell above the door rang, signaling someone entering and breaking Jack's thoughts.
"Sorry young lady, we are just closing up." The barman told the young lady at the entrance. "And you son, do you have someone to take you home?" He asked again.
I know who I want to take me home

Jack mumbled something and turned to the door. He saw Rose, his Rose. She extended a hand out to him and nodded her head toward the door.

"Rose I'm so sorry." His words slurring in this drunken, yet sincere apology.
She silenced him by placing two fingers over his lips. "I know you are and we can talk about this in the morning. For now lets just get out of here."
"Take me home?" asked Jack. "Always" She replied.
