Journal Entry 1

Change was inevitable. It was something that lingered in the back of my mind daily. I just wish it wasn't so heart-breaking.

My small, little fight with Natsu was like a dream except, it was all too real. The pain, the tears, the heartbreak.

Natsu stood in front of me, his fists balled, his body tense. For the first time since I had met him, I was genuinely frightened of him. I had never been on his bad side. Until today.

"How?" His voice broke, almost as if his anger was forced. Furthermore, reason for me to leave. "Why?" He clenched his jaw, "Are, are you jealous? Is that all?"

Undeniably, my best friends love for Lisanna was strong and would trump his love for me any day and I'd admit I was jealous at first, he ran to her with fully open arms and wouldn't let her go until the next morning. But quickly the jealousy burnt out and had gotten over the fact that I was no longer his best friend anymore. Thankfully, Lisanna's timing was more than perfect and provided a somewhat good excuse for my leave.

"I'm… I just need some space. A lot has happened, my father... I need time Natsu." My halfhearted excuses only frustrated him further. "Just, I need to leave and I don't want you, any of you to come with me."

He only frowned. "Fine." He turned almost as if he was going to regret his next words, "Then fine. Leave. I won't wait around for you. Neither will the others." Without another word he left me behind, standing under the large tree at South Gate Park.

The rest of the argument was a blur. Mind-numbing and excruciatingly painful, as if when he left he took a piece of my heart with him but then again if I didn't leave now, there would be no one for me to return to. I'd delayed it far too much and Mavis was getting anxious.

"It was the right thing." A cold hand, pale, translucent sat itself a top mine. Mavis smiled down on me, her long hair trailing over her shoulders, along her back. A smile of reassurance on her face. "He'll forgive. Especially as he realises what you're doing for him, for fairytail."

Nodding I zipped my bag, letting my bangs fall over my eyes. "I just wish it wasn't so difficult."

"I understand." Mavis nods sympathy on her features. "But you must go." With a wave of her hand, the air around it shimmered revealing a slight rift of blue. In the rift was an image of mountain ranges, covered in snow. "To the West of here, the twins are heading to a hidden village." She placed a piece of paper in my hand. "The trip to mountain is easy, the hard part is finding the village." I shivered as

Unravelling the map proved that trek to the mountain was in fact simple. "There's no village on here." I sighed as my eyes roamed over the mountains.

"That's the thing. This map is infused with dark magic, it'll either conceal or show you what it wants as you get closer. It's extremely tricky and can often lead you astray." Mavis sighed, "That's why Laxus is meeting you at the ranges." Before I could utter a word, "He's the closest to the twins and well, he's been to the village once before and no objections he's already on his way I suggest you leave now especially before anyone from the guild sees you."

The young ghost practically pushed me out of my own home. "Be safe Lucy."

Ignoring Mavis' rough goodbye I brushed away the stray tears that managed to fall. Lifting my head and straightening my back I head off West towards the silhouette of mountains in the distance.
