Alex really had to admit; Josh tends to be a handful.

In the end, the older Shepherd was stuck babysitting his younger sibling again. It wasn't unusual, since it was like a second nature for his parents to dump the work onto him when they had to leave or attend a special event. In both cases, the siblings weren't allowed to tag along or attend.

So it was a real bummer when they decided to appoint him as the babysitter when he already had plans. It sucked because he planned on getting to know the transfer student a bit more; perhaps even become his friend.

But the quiet boy rarely talked, so starting a small conversation or greeting him was quite difficult.

When the sound of the car pulling out and driving away faded to nothing, Alex wasn't slow to reach under the couch cushion and pull out a few comics. Josh was behind him every step away, intending to follow the bad example his older sibling had been unintentially setting. He trusted his sibling enough to not rat him out to their parents. He internally cringed when he thought about the punishment he would receive.

"Alex, I'm bored," his sibling finally complained after fifteen minutes of reading and comment exchanging. Again, Alex regretted pushing his parents to have another sibling. Now he was conflicted; either he risked being told on and continued doing what he wanted to do or sacrificed his only 'free period' to entertain his rather annoying baby brother.

He poundered over this for a few minutes, before deciding he was going to 'have his cake and eat it too'.

"Look, lets just finish up here and I'll take you to the park or for a walk or something, alright?"

"But this is bor-"

"Fine, I guess I won't take you anywhere," the brunette taunted as he picked up his comic. Josh's eyes noticeably flared in anguish, "Whatever, just one more comic," he warned as he snuggled back onto the couch and pulled out one of the comics he already read some time ago. Alex couldn't help but smirk.

Maybe having a baby brother wasn't so bad after all.

That is, if he can keep him quiet.
