Chapter One:

My Journey

Disclaimer: I do not own the titles of the songs that have been placed into this document. I do, however, own the storyline. So, please don't steal my idea, or I will know. This is just a little side project/idea that I had come up with. I hope you all enjoy it.

It was Tuesday morning at about 5:00 am when I decided to leave everyone to pursue my dreams on my own. But, as I walked down the road, I could see all the saints coming. They were coming to watch me rest in pieces as I said the famous last words: "So I Need You." By the time I had drifted off into the night, I watched as a black little raven began pecking at the ground ferociously.

"I can't take it." It said angrily.

A rush of panic and fear flooded through me as I listened to this distraught raven peck at everything in sight repeating those angry words: "I can't take it. I can't take it."

"Hey, you…what are you doing?" I finally asked as I approached the black little raven cautiously.

"Some of us might as well be strangers." It muttered insanely as it ignored my question.

"I'm going to ask you again…What are you doing?" I asked. But, this time, it's beady little eyes fixed upon me.

"Who are you? Are you a stranger? I can't deal with strangers." The little raven asked irritably.

"Uh, to be honest, I'm not quite sure who I am." I said as the raven tilted it's head at me as if it were amused by my confusion.

"That immortal. Over there in the little house, she'll be able to tell you who you are." The raven finally said as it pointed it's long black beak up towards a small cabin sitting upon a hill.

As I turned to go, I quietly thanked the little raven and said good bye to him while I cautiously walked away. But, before I even made it to the little statue of innocent looking penguins that the raven had been pecking at earlier, he had stopped me.

"You're not alone, you know. I don't even know who I am anymore either. Those penguins there…they used to be my friends. Until the immortal turned them into stone." The raven said as he hopped towards me a little.

I just stared at him, hoping that he wouldn't come any closer. But, he stopped short of the little white line that stood between him and myself. Looking horrified at it, he quickly jumped back.

"Why did she turn them into stone?" I asked, knowing that he probably wouldn't answer me because I was an outsider and usually outsiders were ignored in places like this.

"Well, she caught us one day." The raven said to my astonishment.

"Caught you…?" I urged on.

"Caught us chasing cars and playing hide and seek in the garden. I knew it had been a bad idea. I told the penguins that we shouldn't do it. But…no one listens to me. Especially the penguins." The Raven said as he hung his head in shame.

But, I knew that we both wanted the same things. We heard story after story about disenchanted lives of heroes becoming legends and legends becoming real. This legend, though, had come real.

As we walked around the penguin statue, we noticed a few words engraved into the block underneath the penguins. The writing was kind of curly and beautiful.

"What does it say?" The raven asked, squinting as it tried to read the words.

"Are you saying you can't read human writing?" I asked him, not trying to sound insulting or anything.

"I'm a bird, how can I read human writing? All us birds can read are messages in footprint code." The raven said.

"Oh, sorry." I responded.

"So, what does it say?" the raven asked impatiently.

"I write sins, not tragedies." I said as I traced the engraving with my index finger.

"What does that mean?" the raven asked, thinking that I knew the answer.

"To be honest with you, I have no idea." I answered.
