One-shot that takes place directly before "A Very Ranger Christmas" and contains a character that'll show up in my sequel series "Legacy Of Power".

Jason and his parents, Ryan and Tracey Scott, were talking and laughing as they decorated their house as Christmas carols played in the background. Just then, the phone rang.

"I'll get it," Jason said and went into the kitchen. "Hello?" he asked.

"Hey, Jase," a voice greeted.

"Andrew!" Jason exclaimed happily, recognizing his older brother's voice. Man, I can't wait to see him! It's gonna be a blast, he thought.

"Hey, how you doin', Kid?" Andrew asked. Though they were twenty-one and seventeen respectively, the two boys were extremely close, even with the boy currently in his second year of college in another state.

"I'm doin' good. Lovin' my new car," Jason replied.

"Oh, yeah, that's right. Dad took you shopping, didn't he?" Andrew responded.

"Yeah. I ended up buying a dark red 1985 Mustang Convertible LX," Jason told him.

"Sounds pretty sweet," Andrew chuckled.

"It is. Lightning runs like a dream," Jason answered.

"You named your car?" Andrew asked.

"You'd understand if you saw him in action," Jason told him. Then, "We can't wait for you to come home."

"Yeah. That's actually why I'm callin', Kid."

"You can't make it?" Andrew sighed when he heard the disappointment in his younger brother's voice. Aw, Jase. I'm sorry, Bro, he thought. He had been looking forward to spending time with the family, but despite his best efforts, he hadn't been able to come up with any way to get to Angel Grove in time.

"Sorry. I can't get any flights or a ride or anything." Jason slumped against the counter.

"This stinks. I was looking forward to spending time with you."

"I know. Me too." It's too bad I can't have him teleported, but that's definitely using my Powers for personal gain, Jason thought to himself. "Listen, can I talk to Mom or Dad?"

"Yeah, sure." Then, "Mom, Dad! Phone! It's Andrew!" The couple came into the kitchen and Jason gave his father the phone and then went back into the living room and continued decorating as he heard the faint sounds of his parents talking to his brother. He let out a sigh. Sure, it bit that Andrew couldn't come home, but he wasn't going to let it get him down. With that, Jason refocused his attention on decorating, ignoring the faint sounds of his parents talking.
