Just a cute little drabble about Arwen and Aragorn ^_^
the wind blew gently across my face as I stared at her, the star shining in the darkness that my life had become. Arwen moved closer as my eyes glazed over, dreaming of days spent with her, days I knew I would never have. she crossed the space dividing us with an elegant grace, one befitting of her title in the elvern kingdom. her lips found mine and my heart ached, yet rejoiced at the same time. she pulled away, but kept her forehead pressed gently against my own. tears rolled slowly down her pale cheeks, leaving trails in their wake.
"Arwen,"I breathed, "I love you so much, but we can't-" I couldn't finish my desperate words as tears of my own choked them back.
"sssssshhh, my love." she murmured, kissing the tears away that were now slowly making their down my cheeks,"This side of you, show only to me. always come back, as I will always be here to come back to, no matter what my father tells me to do, no matter what my responsibilities dictate, you may always find refuge in my arms, and I in yours."
I opened my mouth to respond, words of despair coming to my lips, but I couldn't continue as Legolas came towards us, breaking whatever spell had made the bubble that separated us from the rest of the world.
"Aragorn, we must leave, the dawn has come and a long journey lays ahead."
I nodded as a sign I understood, turning at once back to Arwen. I pressed my lips to hers briefly, lingering there afterwards.
"wait for me, my love, and I shall return to the safety of you warm embrace. my tears, smiles, and heart are all your own."
I held the evenstar in our hands, between our chests for a moment. then with a final kiss I turned to leave the elvern kingdom, and the holder of my soul.
A/N
I don't really know what I was thinking when I wrote this, I was watching return of the king at the time (the bit where Aragorn, Legolas and Gimley got to the ghost cave XD), and my only thoughts were 'my god he is awesome' as many of you have probably felt before ^_^
