Where did they even come from? Chapter 1
The frantic pounding on the castle drawbridge was enough to rouse every Merry man and Knight of Round Table. But that wasn't Charming's concern. It was concerning as to why the visitor or visitors where even there as rain poured down profusely. No human or Everafter would be stupid enough.
"Who goes there?" Charming heard a Merry Man shouted over the walls of his fortress. A gravel like voice responded, it being filled with mass amounts of hysterical anger.
"LET US IN!" The man screamed, and another pound of his fists upon the drawbridge. Charming turned his gaze downwards at the stranger. Whoever (and whatever) he was, the stranger was accompanied by another. Charming took a glance at the men stationed around him. He gave a shout to let down the bridge and send Knights down to greet the guests.
"So let me get this straight Mr….?"
"Sufferer," the man smiled.
"Mr. Sufferer. You came here in search of help and refuge from a person called the…."
"Condescension." The Sufferer added after Charming's brief inquisition of him. "Or Condesce as The Grand Highblood and Dualscar and pretty much everybody else who has suffered from her wrath call her….
"Oh I'm sorry…. Please continue." The sufferer smiled politely. Charming stared at the horned and gray skinned man incredulously. He was only about five foot nine with a mess of spiky black hair. Through the briar of hair, nubby horns peeked through. Charming stared at them; they reminded him of the candy corn that was handed out every year on Halloween. He sighed and turned to the woman (or what he presumed was) that was accompanying the Sufferer. She was slightly shorter, maybe five foot four and had pointy, cat ear-like horns sticking out of her rebellious knots of hair. She smiled at him, noticing his scrutiny of the couple. Charming huffed a sigh and took a glance at one of the guards surrounding him and the strangers.
"Take them to a cabin. And make sure no one was stirred by this. We'll introduce our guests in the morning." Charming ordered. "The last thing I need happening is a riot on our hands."
"Hey stink face! Wake up!" Puck shouted in Sabrina's face. She swatted at him like the fly she sometimes imagined him to be.
"Why?! So you can bombard me with stink bombs?" She shouted, pushing him away.
"NO! That's not till later! And Charming found some new recruits at the castle gates last night and wants everybody to meet them." And with that, Puck was gone, leaving Sabrina to wonder who where these mysterious strangers who had appeared and where did they even come from?
