Final Reality

"Is….is it that time already…?" Ashley said in a tired voice after being awaken by her CD alarm clock which was playing Slipknot-Before I Forget. Today was the day Ashley would sign up for corporation. Usually, people aren't so excited about this, Ashley on the other hand was. "Oh geez! If I don't hurry I am going to be late, man…why do I always sleep in?!" After getting ready, Ashley soon rushed out the door to the corporation of Melies. Rushing through the glass doors, there stood her future life. Everything from now on would revolve around her and her own mech, which she soon named Avenger. "Ah, good you're here Ashley! There is your mech right over there, you already signed all of the papers yesterday." Said the CEO of Melies, Jacob, as he showed Ashley to her mech. "As you can see, the technology on this is very sophisticated. You might not be used to it at this right moment, but as time passes everything should pan out just fine. Remember if you need anything, we here at Melies will be happy to help you." Friday, 8:33AM Ashley was speechless, words were lost on end. Her dream of getting her own mech were finally fulfilled! As she entered Avenger, her life changed, forever. Looking through the windshield, she saw her home, her town in a huge ball of flame. Tears couldn't be held back, as they poured out of her eyes, through her blurred vision she saw what did this to her friends, loved ones and people she didn't even know. It was him. Wiping away the tears, anger and hate took over her. She was no longer the little Ashley everyone knew; she was the leader of the Avenger now. Nothing would stop her, at any cost. "I will destroy you, I WILL TAKE YOU DOWN! You damn bastard! You're a pathetic excuse for a human!" She cried out, not thinking anyone could hear. Soon an unwanted answer came. "I am the pathetic excuse? Look at you, you're a girl. You shouldn't even be running that mech. It has been too long, I couldn't get you, you moved on. Did you ever stop to think about how I felt?" These were the words he spoke in answer to Ash;ey's earlier cry. "Well apparently not, you shall now suffer. If I can't have you, no one can" Paralyzed, speechless, although there really wasn't much to be said, Ashley stood there, and watched him fly away. "I never thought, I can't….I am the cause of all this….No lives would be hurt if I wasn't here…If I still loved him….He knew today was the day I got my mech, ha I didn't think I would use it really, guess I was wrong. You will pay you arrogant bastard…" Ashley turned on her mech for the first time, the feeling was immense, but this wasn't the time to celebrate. She had a mech to destroy, a revenge to take, and a lover to kill. Her first day on the job. Still, as she flew up over the burning town which was one time her home, she remembered the words he spoke to her, the words that stabbed through her heart like an army of daggers….
