PJ's P.O.V

Ding Dong

I ran to the door to see who it was. And who did I find but my best buddie Chris.

"Hey Chris, thanks for coming to help me set everything up. You're the best."

"Oh I know I am, but it's really no problem. Happy Birthday, I have a surprise for you, but you can't see it until later."

"Thanks, but why can't I see it now"

"Because Pj, I said so. Now let's go set everything up for tonight. It's going to be so much fun."

We hung the party streamers up around the walls, blew up the balloons and chucked them anywhere they could fit, put the crisps and candy in bowls on the table, made sure there were drinks in the fridge and soon enough the house looked like it was ready for a party.

"Now, would the birthday boy like to see his surprise now?"

"OOOO yes please."

Chris ran out of the room and came back with a plain black bag.

"First, your actual birthday present."

"CHRIIIS! I can't believe it. You got me a giant Totoro! Thank you soooo much!"

I tackled him in the biggest bear crush ever.

"It's no problem, now, for the second thing."

He then pulled a container out of the bag, and put it on the counter. He opened the container and took out two delicious looking chocolate cupcakes.

"You did not get me a chocolate cupcake."

"Your right I didn't. I made you a chocolate cupcake."

I bit into the cupcake, and was met with an explosion of delectable chocolaty goodness. I was in food heaven. After I finished the cupcake I looked up at Chris and saw that he was laughing at me. I joined in, unable to hold my composure.

"Chris, do you realise that you have chocolate on your face?"

"I could ask you to say the same thing."

I attempted to wipe most of the cake of my face, as did Chris.

"Here Chris, let me help you"

I had no idea where the rush of new found confidence had come from, but I knew I needed to act on it while I could.

I leant closer towards him, and cautiously placed my lips on his, slowly and gently kissing him. I was absolutely ecstatic when he started kissing me back. But of course, the natural human need to breathe interrupted the beautiful moment.

"I'm so glad I did that."

"I am too."

"Hey Chris?"

"Yeah Peej?"

"You taste like chocolate" He replied grinning.

That day turned out to be the best birthday I had ever had, and I was lucky to enjoy more with my darling Chris, and his delicious chocolate cupcakes.
