The Adventures of A Frost Giant: A Choose Your own Adventure Story

Loki's POV

I awoke to the glare of the bright sun in my face. I instantly clenched my eyes shut and rolled over, groaning.

"Who in the nine realms opened those curtains?" I growled angrily. I specifically told those servants they were not to be touched. When I got no answer (not that I expected one), I irritably waved my hands, and the curtains flew back in place, instantly bathing the room in darkness. I waited until my eyes adjusted, before I sat up in my bed. I weaved a hand through my hair and sighed. Another day dealing with my parent's disapproval, and Thor's antics. I thought, scowling slightly. "No use delaying the inevitable," I muttered, swinging my feet to the side of the bed and placing them on the floor.

I stood up and stretched my languid body, satisfied when I heard a few pops. I took a shower and washed my hair, musing at how long it was getting. "Maybe a cut is in order," I said to myself chuckling. After my shower, I quickly dressed myself, wanting to be able to read a few pages out of my book, before someone was in need of me.

I grabbed a book titled, Magic In All Forms and sat in a comfy leather chair, putting one leg over the other. I sighed in contentment and opened to the page I had left off on. It wasn't long before my peace was ruined.

A knock resounded at my door, insistent in its rapping. I rolled my eyes at the continuous noise and stood up, putting my book down in my spot. I glided over to the door, and after unlocking it, I yanked it open. I glared at the servant, who was a great deal shorter than me, and waited for him to provide an explanation.

"Prince-prince L-Loki. I didn't mean to disturb you so." The pudgy man stammered, sweat beading on his brow. I raised an eyebrow, but said nothing. He cleared his throat. "Anyway, I was sent to deliver these two messages." He pulled out two scrolls each wrapped with a different colored string, and outstretched his trembling hands toward me.

A malicious grin snaked across my face at the thought of what I could do to this poor servant and he swallowed nervously. Another time, maybe. I thought, letting my grin subside.

I let my eyes rest on the two scrolls in his hand, and studied each one, contemplating on which one to choose.

The one in the servant's left hand was pristine white parchment, sealed with golden thread, hints of pure gold twisted in. The other scroll was less flashy and less appealing in appearance. Held in the servant's right hand, it was shades of brown, the paper aged beyond reason, held together by a thin rope of twine.

I looked at each scroll several times, wondering what message could possibly be in them, as the servant shifted his foot in agitation. My eyes flashed to him, daring him to rush me. He swallowed and took a step back, making me smile in victory. I licked my lips before making my decision.

Which scroll should Loki choose?

The one with the gold thread? (Chap 2)

The one with the twine rope(Chap 3)

YOU DECIDE!
