Dream Diary
So, that's a week now, I can finally stop this diary, it's stupid and hasn't helped, my councillor was wrong, again. I got nothing of any interest last night. It was like…reality, but not, a bit different in some really obvious ways, and some really subtle, it was weird and I didn't really understand it. The nights before were dead simple, just me and my Mum walking in fields and other rubbish like that. 'Call me Terry' liked that. She got really excited, 'this shows progress Cathy!' Yeah right, they are just dreams.
Okay. So I've got to do this properly, otherwise Terry will put on her disappointed and let down face, nod her head slowly, sigh and say, could you not have tried a little bit? Then the worst thing is she'd shake it off and be all friendly again. I can't deal with that, which is probably why she does it, so here goes:
I was standing in a dessert, completely alone, I could hear the wind spinning through the empty landscape, picking up sand and throwing it into my face and hair. The landscape changed, merged and I saw shimmering figures walking through the storm of sand. Leaning against the wind, as they walked the landscape behind them changed and grew, the hard cracked earth turned green and shoots sprouted, a river bursts from the ground, and floods away in to the distance, gradually the people become less bowed, less weak and start standing strong, striding towards me, plants and sun springing from every step they take. They get closer and I can see one is a man and one a woman, the woman's face, beautiful and radiating light, the mans strong and powerful, both smile and take my hands, leading me over to the paradise behind them. 'This is the earth,' They gestured to the greenery, 'look after it'. And then I woke up. Okay…time to face Terry.
Wow, that was interesting. When I described my dream to Terry she looked amazed, her huge 'understanding' blue eyes bore in to mine, then she smiled, properly, it wasn't even sympathetic. And started laughing, tears came to her eyes and she hugged me, 'The creation Cathy, you've seen the creation. The ancient Aboriginal myth.' I've got to admit I have no idea what she was on about, she said something about dreamtime, and these ancient and wise Australian people. She didn't even get disappointed when I said I didn't get it, she just grinned and nodded fervently, 'That's the point Cathy, you aren't meant to get it, its mysterious, not quite right, doesn't make sense. Surreal'
I know it doesn't make any sense to me, but oh well, Mum seemed happy too when she heard, if a bit bewildered, she even hugged me.
But then maybe that was a dream aswell.
pleease review, i'd love to know what you think!
