Receiving Warmth
Summary: a random act of kindness on a cold's winter's day.
Kisame and Itachi of the Akatsuki were on a mission in the Snow Country to retrieve a bounty for Kakuzu. They had to be more cautious as they caught wind of two Konoha Nin nearby in the forest.
Kisame, despite his warm clothes and cloak, could not regulate his body hear and was getting sleepier and sleepier as the urge to hibernate clouded his mind. Kisame was blue-er than usually and his pupils were greatly dilated, almost solid black as he drew the chilling air in with each breath.
"Have you sighted him yet?" Kisame asked; a warning in the undertone.
Itachi glanced at him. "Not yet I'm afraid," Itachi turned back. "Find shelter, I can do this on by own."
Kisame shook his head. "I've got your six," he said stubbornly.
Itachi scowled; while he admired his partner and appreciated his loyalty he knew he wouldn't be able to drag his body should he collapse.
"Excuse me! Sirs!"
Kisame and Itachi tensed at the feminine voice; they turned towards it. A civilian woman, by her chakra, with brown hair and a large bag was quickly walking towards them; bundled tightly with a scarf around her neck and face.
"Can we help you?" Kisame asked cautiously; most people didn't take kindly to his appearance, especially women.
The woman smiled and pulled her scar off. "I think you need this more than me," she said.
Stunned, Kisame was still as the woman wrapped the blue and green scarf around his neck and face, blocking out the cold. She did the same to a very stiff Itachi, though his was maroon and red. The woman smiled.
"Happy holidays," she said and left.
Kisame deftly brought his hand to the soft yarn of the scarf and smiled slightly, flustered.
'It's so warm…'
End~
That is so me. The cold season seems to awaken urges within me to crochet scarfs and hats and just recently mittens. I usually have nothing to do with them and my family as like three scarves each so they like pile in my closet.
Anyways, ByBy~!
