Just a one-off I wrote in about five minutes.
"Tarrant? Can you make me a hat?" Alice asked him one day.
He looked at her playfully. "Can I? Of course I can, I'm a hat maker, aren't I?"
Alice smiled and rolled her eyes. "Fine then, will you?"
"What sort of hat?" He asked.
"A very special hat. I want to give it to my mother as an un-birthday present."
Alice and Tarrant went to Upperland together to give her mother the 'very special' hat.
"Hello, Alice. What's in the box?" Helen asked.
Alice and Tarrant glanced at each other and grinned knowingly. "It's a present. For you."
"Oh? And what's the occasion?"
"It's your un-birthday!" Tarrant stated with enthusiasm.
Helen just shook her head as she open the hat box. She pulled out the hat…
"It - it's a -"
"CODFISH HAT!" Alice and Tarrant bust out laughing. Then Helen Kingsleigh started laughing too.
