A is for Amber who drowned in a pool.
The arena was like a big park with a pool in the middle. And of course, in the middle of the pool was the cornucopia. As soon as the gong sounded, I hopped off the platform into the pool and tried to swim to the cornucopia. I'm not good at swimming and wanted to try it, but that was a mistake, I couldn't keep my head above the water and the first canon sounded.
B is for Billy who got eaten by ghouls
The capital is cruel, it was the final four and no one was around each other so they're chasing us with mutts, well at least me. I knew I was close to someone else being chased when I saw fire, but then I tripped, and lost all hope of winning. The sharp fangs tore through my skin and I closed my eyes in pain. Then, the pain was gone, and the canon blew.
C is for Curt with disease of the brain
The lights. The lights are flashing as my brain fuzzes up. I'm having a seizure, I think. Blood comes out of my ears and a ringing sound won't stop. My eyes are fuzzing and I can't stop shaking. Everything goes black and I think I'm dead. But my canon hasn't sounded. I relax as the ringing, shaking, and fuzzing stops. And then the canon finally blows.
D is for Daniel, derailed on a train
The arena has a section of it that is train track themed. I think it's very stupid, but not as stupid as the sand pyramids at the end of it. But how did it get from a park to a train track, same with the pyramids. By me thinking this, I didn't even realize that the train was coming towards me, and as soon as the impact hit me hard, my body imploded, leaving nothing but blood, guts, and a canon sound.
E is for Erik who was buried alive
I had finally found a nice quiet cave to get away from all of the dangers the capital was putting out for us but it wasn't as safe as I thought. I heard a rumbling noise as my 'safe' hideout came crumbling down on me. I was suffocating under the rocks and dirt and I hoped that another tribute would come and save me, because I'm claustrophobic. Because of this, the canon sounded for the last time of my life.
F is for Frank who got stabbed through the eye
I dodged the career's swings successfully even though we were so close to water. My district partner already drowned so it was just me. No ally to help me out. the career is angry with me and starts jabbing faster, I think he's crazy or something. He jabbed for my head and the blade went clean through my eye. I could've screamed if it wasn't stabbing my brain. I couldn't move and almost instantly died.
G is for Greg who died in the womb (mother's POV)
When my daughter died I think I had a stroke. Her little brother was due to be born in about a month and she wanted to at least hold him. I went to the doctor so he could prescribe to me whatever medicine would help. That's when I found out I had lost another child. The little baby boy who I'd planned to name Greg. I'd lost both of my babies in one day.
H is for Heather who got sealed in a tomb
This part of the arena is like a sandy desert and it has three sand pyramids. I'd heard about them in history when we talked about the times before now. People called Egyptians stored mummified bodies in there. I was curious so I went in and the door closed behind me. I saw a crippled, rotting thing wrapped in tissue coming towards me. It grabbed me, but didn't bite me. Instead I suffocated in the mummy's tomb.
