"Listen up everyone!" The new captain yelled. She was blond and petite, and seemed to think that yelling would make up for her small stature.
"As an attempt at team-building, we are all going to be participating in an exercise."
Ryan and Esposito looked at each other.
"I really miss Montgomery." Ryan whispered.
They turned back to the group, only to find Castle in an argument with the Chief.
"But we're partners! You can't just separate us! That's totally unfair! I want to go too!"
Beckett buried her face in her hands.
"Mr. Castle, while I appreciate your input during cases, the whole point of the exercise is so that I can get to know-"
"I don't think the mayor would be very happy to hear about this."
The chief looked exacerbated. "Fine, fine. You can take my place."
Castle grinned and turned to Beckett. "Sweet! I've always wanted to meet Jeff Probst!
Esposito and Ryan looked at each other. "What?"
