Fire and Snow

You stand their, grinning. Knowing you've won.

I'm cornered and know there's no way out.

You bend to your masters and do what they say.

And they said to find me and make me like you.

But I don't want to be like you.

You kill, with no remorse.

You steal, with no regret.

You corrupt, and don't think twice.

I don't want to be like you.

I want to be me.

I won't kill, you can't make me.

I won't steal, no matter your threats.

I won't corrupt, you'll never force me.

You'll never make me like you.

You teeth shine in the moonlight.

You only come out at night.

Are you scared of the sun-shine?

Do you not like it, like I do?

I love the sun and I love the blue sky.

I don't want to only see moon-light.

I need the sun and I need the rain.

The cool rain, like in the morning.

You smell like rain.

Did you know that?

I can smell it as you walk toward me.

As you come close for the kill.

Or is it?

Do you want to kill me?

Was it your choice?

Do you get one?

"Prey" you whisper.

"Predator" I respond.

You lean in, you rain scent hits me.

Maybe I should have run.

But you would have chased and caught me anyway.

Its better this way.

When you bite me, it hurts.

I won't deny it.

It burns like a fire's unquenchable thirst.

It hurts but I don't scream or cry.

I don't want to.

You can't make me.

You pick me up.

Your snow skin burns against my fire.

I like it.

I like your snowy skin.

Do you like my fire?

You know that's how it will always be.

You'll be snow

And I'll be fire.

And we'll hate each other some-days.

Then we'll love each other so much it won't matter.

You'll smother my warmth and melt you chill.

You won't let me be hot.

I won't let you be cold.

You and me forever.

As fire and snow.
