"I broke up with Kathleen" Tony said all to quickly. Angela tried to let the words sink in as she listend to his story, how he didn't want to marry kathleen, or father her children, and how "things" got in the way.

Angela couldn't help but feel happy. She was happy Kathleen was out of Tony's life. She was happy that things would get back to normal. But she was sad at the same time. Sad that Tony didn't seem happy that he broke up with Kathleen. Sad that she was dating Andy. Sad that no matter how hard she tried to forgive Tony for the things he had done to hurt her so deeply, she just couldn't.

This was the key point of all her problems. It wasn't Kathleen or Andy. it wasn't the normal everyday distractions that kept them from being together. It was Tony that had pushed her away. It was Tony who made that decision many nights ago to betray her, even though they never made a commitment.

The more Angela tried to see the bright side of things, the more she felt sad, hurt, and betrayed. She still loved Tony, and wanted to continue feeling this way. but Angela couldn't forgive him quite yet, he had hurt her too much.

"I have a date with Andy." she said quickly after he had finished his story. She wanted to slip away silently before he could see the tears that were threatning to spill from her eyes. She loved Tony, but love had to wait.
