Success!
After finally completing my initial quest, I decided that my second attempt would be to try the cook's assistant quest. Before beginning I reviewed the guide to refresh my memory of moving around in the town of Lumbridge.
In order to begin the quest of the Cook's Assistant, Btrswehrt had to find her way to the castle in Lumbridge. In the castle I am to find the cook on the first floor. My objective was to increase my cooking level. I was starting out at farmer Fred's house. As I left his house and turned south Glockinpants was fighting a goblin with his sword. A little further along the path Johnspore1 was fighting another goblin. It made me think that I should watch out for goblins and try to avoid fighting them. Using my compass and my map I proceeded in a southeasterly direction. As I neared the castle, I spoke to Doomsayer. He told me about warning signs and how I could see them to know what an area holds. I then made my way into the castle and to the first floor to speak to the cook.
The cook told me that he was in terrible trouble. It's the Duke's birthday and he forgot to get the ingredients to make a cake. I agree to help him and need to find a super large egg, top-quality milk, and extra-fine flour. He also tells me that he does not know exactly where I can find the ingredients but that he has marked my map with a blue line around the area I must search.
I set off on my quest and decide to head north to the general store. If I am going to bring back milk and flour I will need something to carry them in. I arrive in the store and speak to the shopkeeper. He asks if he can help me and I tell him that I'd like to buy a bucket and a pot. I thank him and leave the shop.
My next stop is going to be the cow pen. I go north from the store heading towards the bridge to the east. In the cow pen I battle a cow and increased my strength. I then spoke to Gillie Groats to find top-quality milk. She points out her prized cow and I walk east across the pen. I finish milking the cow and set off on my next task.
I head north looking for eggs. I pass a weather vane that shows which way the wind blows. At the chicken farm I enter the gate and head for the northeast corner. Once there I pick up an egg and leave the farm through the gate.
Now there is one last ingredient on my list. I still must find the extra-fine flour. I must retrace my route back to the south past the cow pen and then west back over the bridge and past the general store. I follow a winding path northwesterly and open a gate. Eventually I come to the mill and Millie Miller tells me I can pick grain in their field so I go to the field and pick some grain. I return to the mill with the grain and climb the ladder to the top floor where I put the grain in the hopper. I pull the lever and climb down the two ladders to the main floor. Once there, I put the extra fine flour in the pot.
Now that I have the ingredients I head back toward the castle in the south. I pass the sheep pen and continue on. As I near the castle there are fires burning in the road. I pass around them and enter the castle. There I give the ingredients to the cooks and he is grateful. I've completed my quest and I am awarded 1 Quest Point, 300 Cooking XP, 500 coins, 20 sardines, and access to the cook's range. Now that's what I call a quest well done!
