Nothing but wait.
He had no idea how he had gotten there. He couldn't remember walking through the corridors. He couldn't remember opening the door and letting himself in. He couldn't remember sitting at her desk or picking up the lone pen lying there.
He was in her lab. He felt better than he had in days – slightly.
He felt closer to her in some way. Knowing that he was surrounded by her presence calmed him enough so he could hear himself think.
They had no idea where they were. He had no idea where she was. And that scared him.
He wasn't used to going any amount of time without seeing her.
He missed her.
The thought filled him with dread.
He had tried so hard to hide his feeling for her. He had failed to hide them from himself. He wondered if he had managed to hide them from anyone.
He shook his head.
He didn't care.
He just wanted her back.
Their allies were looking.
There was nothing he could do. There wasn't anything any of them could do.
Nothing but wait.
