6 years old:

It was my first day of elementary school. I didn't know anybody and was scared out of my mind.

"Everyone this is Anita Lesnicki, she's new here, and I want all of you to give her your warm welcome, and make her feel at home."

As soon as Mrs. Jacobs introduced me to the front of the class, all eyes were staring at me.

"Her name is Lesnicki"

All the kids laugh with her as she said it, I later found out that her name is Chastity, and that we wouldn't be getting along so well

"I like her name!"

All the kids in the room stopped laughing at the sound of her soft voice, yet it was loud enough to get across the classroom.

I turned my head to see what it all about, and then I finally realize why they did.

She had long black hair, and beige texture skin tone, with gazing hazel eyes.

"Well Anita, you can take a seat right next to Jennifer", said Mrs. Jacobs with a happy smile

I didn't need to know how to get to my seat, it was oblivious the dark haired girl with gazing hazel eyes was Jennifer. On top of the fact all the other children in the class looking at her with fascination, except for chastity, who was looking between me and Jennifer with disgust.

As I sat in my seat I said

"Hi my names Anita"

Jennifer had squinted her nose at me, eyeing me up and down as I was getting ready to sit down, like I was crazy enough to even talk to her, even to sit by her.

"I know that captain obvious"

I was a little surprised, at first she seemed nice, but then she turned mean and cold. But that as all forgotten as Mrs. Jacobs began teaching us in class, I couldn't help but stare with my fascination with her.

"Don't you know it's rude to stare?"

"Oh I'm sorry"

"Oh I'm sorry, no you're not"

And with that the bell ringed for recess, as all the kids rushed out the room, to go play, but Jennifer walked slow and I wanted to walk with her.

As doing so she senses me following her, and turned around and said

"I don't like your name, from now on I'm calling you Needy"

I was a little hurt by that considering my mom named me after a dead family member. But instead I said.

"Okay"

And we played.

And the rest was history.
