I Love the Wind
"Sesshomaru, did she suffer?" Kagome asked
"She was smiling" Sesshomaru sounded confused but in reality he understood the reason for her smile, her last words rang in his ears.
"One last time, I got to see you just one last time," he couldn't get her out of his head.
Sesshomaru began to walk away, why should this woman mean anything to him.
As if triggered by those exact thoughts a wave of memories flooded his mind.
"I am Kaugra the wind sorceress, an incarnation of Naraku."
"I am here to offer you the jewel shards."
"If a man opens the entryway he can help me"
"To the path between worlds."
"One last time, just one last time."
"One last time."
"One last time."
Anger and hatred filled his body he wanted Naraku dead more than ever, he wanted to personally snap the neck of every enemy who ever had the gall to cross him. He felt his eyes going red hot and his marking eating their way further and further along his growing canine face.
"Big brother" he heard a voice call, it felt distant.
Sesshomaru snapped back into his human form and whipped round to see that it was Inuyasha.
Inuyasha hadn't called him by that juvenile title since he was a half breed pup.
"What is it Inuyasha?" Sesshomaru asked genuinely interested.
"How can you just walk away from this, Kagura loved you, even you aren't so blind that you didn't notice."
"Inuyasha, do you remember how you felt when that demon blood overtook your soul, you felt nothing because demons have no need for feelings such as love," Sesshomaru said bluntly.
"That's a load of bullshit and you know it Fathers feelings are the reason I can weld Tensiga." Inuyasha Snapped.
"But you must feel something?" questioned Kagome.
"SILENCE! foolish girl I have no need for such emotions." With that Sesshomaru left Inuyasha's group to their pathetic whispering about how torn up he is inside.
As Sesshomaru walked off he felt a strong but soothing wind circle him.
"The wind," he reminisced
"Strong, cool and ...Free."
With that thought Sesshomaru realized there was no need to mourn Kagura's death, her mere existence bound and doomed her to Naraku. She was untouchable now, free from his wicked grasp.
It wouldn't have mattered to Kagura that he didn't acknowledge how much she meant to him. She knew and he knew and that was all that mattered to them.
"The free wind"
