Dear Constant Readers; This is my own retelling of Cinderella in poem version, inspired partly by Ella Enchanted.

Your obediant servant,

Rose

Letters to a Prince

I worked so hard

Just to see your face

Just to be at this very ball

Am I daring enough to dance

Once more in your arms?

Yes.

And as we glide along

I wish silently that the moment never ends,

And I see in your eyes,

How my mask intrigues you so,

Do I dare remove it?

And reveal my secret to you?

A jealous other decides for me,

And as you see my face,

I turn away and run,

Never looking back,

Even when I stumble,

Leaving a solitary slipper behind.

The clock tolls midnight,

And my carriage is gone,

Mice scurry past me,

I finally return,

To the safety of my room,

Only just to hear,

That you are downstairs,

Searching for the maiden,

Whose slipper it is,

You know its mine,

You were there when we found them,

My stepsisters fail,

And I am sent before you,

Dressed in rags,

My face disguised with soot,

You still know it's me,

You kneel,

Slipping the glass shoe on my foot,

You ask me to marry you,

But you deserve a proper princess,

Not a pauper like myself,

Though I want to scream yes,

Just to wipe the smirks off my stepsisters faces,

I can't,

But when I look into your eyes,

Brimming with so much love,

I want to wake up,

And see those eyes every morning forever,

Yes,

I whisper it at first,

Then louder,

I want to scream it to the heavens,

As a smile lights up your face,

And we finally embrace,

We marry,

And we live,

Happily Ever After.
