The Story of Love: How I met Kai
It was a year and a bit back, I had reunited with me dearest cousin Cole. Kai had a
girlfriend but their relationship wasn't smooth. Her name was Jade and she was probably
the most fussiest person I have ever met. She treated me horribly,never though I was the
humble owner of a fashion store. She thought I was a threat to her relationship with Kai,
however not even a spark with Kai had begun. Jade had an unsettling effect on Cole's
ninja friends, they tried hard to keep her happy, as she was something shocking when she
was angry. Saying that, three days after I moved into the 'Bounty' Kai broke up with her.
You could say that how Kai and I found sparks for each other was a cliche romance movie
thing, but actually it wasn't. I'm a bit clumsy, and this one fine morning about 10 months
ago defined it. I was at my favourite coffee place, on a Saturday morning. I usually work
Monday to Friday and from midday on Sundays. I was in a rush to get my favourite spot
in the park not far away from the corner. I bumped into Kai and he helped me up, it was
the first time I had actually had a conversation with him. I was usually engaged with Jay
and Zane whom which we share a fascination for all things technological. I had seen Kai
but he was usually with that awful Jade. We both grabbed another coffee as we spilt ours
when bumping into each other. It was so funny as that place was Kai's favourite coffee
place and he enjoyed the same place in the park as me. We managed to grab our spot
and sat together, socialising. We both discovered we had so much in common. To honest I
was embarrassed afterwards cause I blushed too much! Both of us knew that we had a
small connection. We became good friends over the weeks, meeting at the same place
with a coffee on a Saturday morning. As we did that, our connection sparked more and
our bond strengthened. We even got caught off guard by Cole once, who simply just
allowed us to socialise. He was happy I made friends with Kai and was making him happy
after what Jade had done.
After about three months of meeting on Saturday, our friendship expanded. Kai asked me
out on a date. I said yes at once. Kai didn't like romantic stuff, nor did I. Our first date
was humble, a simple couples pizza at Johnnies. I enjoyed it, Kai spoilt me by shouting us
a bottle of champagne. Yes Kai was a hot-head and the ninja of fire, but guess what? I
saw a different side of him when I was with him. Kai asked me at that date whether I
would consider dating him, I said yes. Ten months on, we are boyfriend and girlfriend and
we share the same bed. We are a perfect couple, that met in a sort of a cliche way,
however we aren't cliche.
