I apologise to anyone who's family may have been affected in the bombings in London a couple of years ago. I just thought I would state so now.
As Hodgins looked up to the heavens, he wondered how this moment was about to pan out. His aunt's daughter, Megan had been studying at Oxford University, and Hodgins promised that if she passed all the necessary exams, he would try and get her working with Brennan and Co. A few weeks prior, she had called him up from England, to tell him the good news. He arranged a flight from London to America, and would pick her up at the airport.
The only other person that knew about it was Angela. No-one else had a clue that a new work colleague would be joining them, let alone related to Hodgins.
"Hodge, you ready?" Megan said as she grabbed her bag out of his car, and they made their way into the Jeffersonian.
"Yeah, I'm fine, just wondering how Booth and Brennan will take it. Well, it doesn't matter really. You're my cousin, and I'm looking out for you! They can't exactly have a go at me can they?" Hodgins turned to Megan, and smiled.
"We'd better go to security first; we need to get you a pass, so you can get in here without being tackled to the ground with the guards thinking you're trying to sneak in!"
A woman with dark long hair made her way towards Hodgins.
"Megan, this is Angela, my fiancée, and Angela, this is my cousin Megan. She's joining us to work. How do you think Booth and Brennan will take it?" Hodgins kissed Angela on the cheek, and they continued walking towards a room with a sign that read 'SECURITY' above it.
"Heya Sweetie! Nice to meet you. You'll love us all, I promise! Hodge, why didn't you tell me about her? She is a stunner! The good looks run throughout the family. Booth and Brennan will be fine. I swear someday soon Booth will jump Brennan's bones, pardon the pun." Angela intertwined her fingers with Hodgins, as they walked along.
After Megan got her security pass sorted out, they made their way to the lab.
"Meg, you will love the guys, seriously. I mean, yeah, we work, we really concentrate and everything but, they are the most awesome people you'll meet." Angela started to get all excited, even though she wasn't the newbie that everyone was about to get introduced to.
"Haha. That's good then. I think after the crap I had happen to me in England, I need some awesome people to work, and hang out with!"
"Well, later on, if you want, we could all go out to a bar, and have a drink after work."
"Sure!! It will be great. Are we nearly there Hodge?" Megan clipped her security pass onto her blouse pocket.
"Swipe your card on this" Hodgins swiped his card on a silver stand.
"Morning" Everyone said in unison to Angela, Hodgins, and the person standing next to them.
"Uhum." Hodgins cleared his throat. "Guys, this is my cousin, Megan. Her parents were killed in the London bombings, and she really doesn't have any other family apart from me. She's just finished studying at Oxford, and I promised her that I would let her have a job here if she passed her exams. Are you guys okay with her working here?"
Cam walked over to where Hodgins and Megan were standing.
"Nice to meet you Megan." She held out her hand, ready for Megan to shake it.
