He was about to reach out to the child but realizes he doesn't have time right now quicker than rukias eyes can follow ichigo turns around and chops the hollow in half with his new katana, this certain katana is about average size, but the white silver color it should be is not there instead it is a dark silver on the verge of gray with a black handle that looks alive, as he looks at the handle he is reminded of the boy that he saw just moments before, when he looks back towards the spot he saw the child there was no one there. Ichigo writes it off as seeing things, then goes to Rukia and helps her up the last thing he remembers before waking up is a flash of light.
