A/N: I didn't give up on my other fic, this idea just came to me so I ran with it. Please Review, I love reading reviews!

"Can I open my eyes yet?" Sara asked, "Where are you taking me? Have you gone mad?" She was being led by the hand to god-only-knows where by Grissom.

"Just relax Sara." He finally said, "We're almost there anyways."

"I am going to get you for this Grissom." She said. She had no idea why she was playing along and keeping her eyes closed but Grissom seemed pretty determined, and he made her promise to keep her eyes closed. Who could say no?

"Okay. Stay there, but don't open your eyes yet."

"I'm getting a little impatient here." She said.

"I hadn't noticed." He laughed.

What in the world is he up to? She thought, He's probably going to throw me off a cliff and get rid of all his problems.

He took her hand again, squeezed it and said, "Okay, open."

Sara snapped her eyes open and took in the scene before her. They were at the lake, the sun going down behind it. The sun's reflection clear on the still water. Sailboats in the lake were highlighted by the yellow light of the sunset. Her eyes drifted to the shore. In the sand lay a tan blanket, perfectly spread with a picnic basket in the top left corner. Two pillar candles were lit at the top of the blanket, despite the breeze that was coming in off the lake.

Sara turned to Grissom, who was biting his bottom lip, unsure of what her response would be.

"Did you…?" she asked.

He simply said, "Yeh."

"But," She paused, "why?"

"I love you Sara." He said bluntly.

She opened her mouth to say something, but Grissom's index finger came up to stop her. "Shh…" he said, not wanting her to say anything she might regret later.

"Let's eat." he said and placed his hand on the small of her back to guide her over to the blanket. He opened the basket and pulled out two sandwich wraps, and two cans of grape soda.

Noticing her look at the wraps he said, "Vegetarian, I promise."

She smiled and sat down next to him, taking the wrap he offered her.

"I don't know what to say Grissom. All I want to know is; where did this all come from, why now?"

"It's complicated Sara. Let's just say that I finally realized you were right." To that Sara gave him a very puzzled look. "Back when the lab blew up." he clarified. "Sara, I don't want it to be too late." He took her free hand in his.

"It's not. But Grissom that was two years ago." She informed him.

"I know, but I ran into a file from the investigation a few days ago." He sighed.

They ate in silence, both watching the sun go down.

After he finished Grissom said, "Beautiful, isn't it?"

"Yeh. I used to come here all the time before shift." Sara said.

They lie on the blanket; arms folded beneath their heads, watching the stars come out.

"Last one to find the Big Dipper has to run into the lake." Sara said laughing.

"You're on." he said.

A few minutes later they both screamed, "There it is!" at the same time, throwing their fingers up to the sky.

"Guess we both won." Sara said.

"No," Grissom said mischievously, grabbing her hand. "We both lost!" He dashed to the lake, Sara in tow.

They both ran in, with their clothes on, screaming and laughing. When they got deep enough Sara plunged under. When she came back up Grissom was still standing, chest level, hair not wet.

She raised her eyebrows at him. "Chicken?" she grinned.

"No, but..." he didn't get to finish his sentence. Sara lunged at him, pushing him under, her arms wrapped around his neck.

He came up and said to her, "Oh you are so evil."

"Am I now?" She said. She grabbed his face, looked him in the eyes and kissed him gently.

"Hm, defiantly." He said.

The End!
