A/N: Okay so I have so much to say, and yet so little time to say it. First things first, I finally got my new computer so updates will be a lot more frequent! yeah! Second I know that I have another story going, but honestly it sucks, and I dont know what to do with it, but I heard this song and it made me thing of Rory and Jess. Isnt it sad when you get to a point that you hear songs and automatically thing of what pairing they would go with? Next, I really dont like this band, I have nothing against them, I just dont care for them but the song 'spoke' to me. I think thats it, let me know what you think.
Disclaimer: I do not own Gilmore Girls or the song Running Away, I do however own this computer which I am so happy about:)
She stepped off of the bus, after one final look at her boyfriend. Did he really thing that she was so stupid to not see the giant bag underneath his seat? She shook her head and turned on her walkman thinking that she could drown out her thoughts. The opening chords where familiar and her automatic instinct was to stop the song, something stopped her though. She listened to the lyrics carefully.
I don't want you to give it all up
and leave your own life collecting dust
and I don't want you to feel sorry for me
you never gave us a chance to be
She first thought of the day that Lane had forced her to listen to it against her will. But music was Lanes thing, so she gave it a chance.
And I don't need you to be by my side
and tell me that everythings all right
I just wanted you to tell me the truth
You know I'd do that for you
She then thought of the boy that was on a bus to god knows where, running away from her. She wished that he could be here to listen to the lyrics with her. She wanted to ask him these same questions.
So why are you running away?
Why are you running away?
I did enough to show you that I was willing to give and sacrafice
and I was the one who was lifting you up
when you thought your life had had enough
when I get close you turn away, nothing that I can do or say
so now I need you to tell me the truth
you know I would do that for you
As the rest of the song concluded she realized that she would never get to ask these questions to his face, but for now the song was enough.
So why are you running away?
Why are you running away?
Is it me? Is it you?
Nothing that
I can do
To make you change your mind
Is it me? Is it you?
Nothing that
I can do
Is it a waste of time?
Is it me? Is it you?
Nothing that
I can do
to make you change your mind
So why are you running away?
Why are you running away?
What is it I have to say?)
So why are you running away?
(To make you admit you're afraid)
Why are you running away?
For now the song was enough, but maybe one day she would get to ask him in person.
