Chapter 1: Who loves slaughter?

Swish! A large halberd crossed through the field of vision of Bao Zhu, private bodyguard of Lu Bu. Falling back, he stumbled into a Wei peon, and angrily slashed his gut with his long spear. Angrily, he turned to his master. "Watch where you're swinging that damn thing!" Lu Bu gave him a deadpan glare, then turned and cleaved another several men into pieces. "Shut up and protect me already!" The banter was kept on as the body count grew. "I am, I am."

"No you're not, otherwise they wouldn't be near me!

"That's what you get for charging at them like a stupid ditz!"

"What's a ditz?"

Bao rolled his eyes and, seeing Cao Cao charging with another full regimen, called to his leader, "I'll tell you later, just toss me your halberd!"

"Why?"

"Just do it!" For once, Lu Bu complied, knowing that, if necessary, his tall, stocky companion could pose as him, what with their matching armor and very large feathered hats. Tossing Bao Zhu his weapon, he hopped on Red Hare, and called, "Don't let them kill you!" Bao nodded, then called to the approaching army, "Who loves slaughter!"

Cao Cao reared back on his horse, as he saw the armies of Lu Bu split, half following a retreating shape, and the other protecting a large man with Lu Bu's halberd, and a very long spear. Unsettled, Cao Cao Called forward his best archer, the short, fat Xiahou Yuan. Yuan nodded, then took a regiment of archers to follow the retreating group of soldiers. Cao Cao, meanwhile, readied his horse and, alongside his own bodyguard, Xu Zhu, rode towards the defending army.

Bao Zhu, despite his efforts, was soon alone on the battlefield, his two weapons flashing this way and that, cutting down man after man. At one point, he even thought of barricading himself with a wall of the bodies, but that would take too long. Backing up slowly, he kept his rear to a wall, so that he couldn't get killed by a stab in the back. Despite his efforts though, he was outnumbered and tiring as they soldiers kept advancing in almost endless, continual swarms. Hopping onto a fallen officer's horse, he trampled over a group of them and rode away far enough from the attacking Wei men so that he could catch his breath. Little did he know that a dark figure was watching in the shadows, silently contemplating this hero's chances in another time against deadlier foes.

This silent watcher was Keith Brown, a superhero hailing from Paragon City, which was in desperate need of more heroes. Due to the increasing amount of super Powerful villains, Paragon was slowly but surely being taken over by the evil hordes. As Keith contemplated this dilemma, he quickly realized that, with his technological advances, he would soon be able to travel back in time and find a hero that could slaughter a hundred foes in a day. And he just found one in this large Chinese warrior with a spear and a halberd against an entire army alone. Dialing in a detailed code into a wristband on his arm and said, "HQ, call me and this guy back." Typing a binary coding describing the man, he smiled as both of them were surrounded by a dark red aura and promptly vanished, to the shock and dismay of Cao Cao's men.
