BeginningsMartin has thought about what his first time with Danny would be like. A lot. Because it's not even a question of if they get together now: it's a question of when. After 4 years of denial and a year of going out with Samantha he has just come around to accepting how much he wants Danny. Yearns for him; Needs him; Lusts after him. And it's a lot.
So that's what he figures their first time would be like: hard, fast, flesh-on-flesh, bruising kisses and raw need. No emotion, just sex. Just hot, passionate sex. Heat. Lust. Desire. Both of them fighting for dominance. 4 years of flirting and wanting and yearning, finally resolving itself in one overwhelming climax.
But it's not like that at all.
They don't talk about the case but Martin knows Danny's hurting. Danny doesn't tell him but then again, Danny's not talking. Mind you, neither is Martin because Danny is kissing him and he's even having trouble thinking let alone talking. Danny is kissing him all over and it is better than Martin ever could have imagined. It's also different.
Danny initiated it, like Martin always thought he would. But the kiss is tender and patient. Martin is also pretty sure that he can taste tears on Danny's lips. Danny follows him back to his apartment silently. No words are spoken but Danny is clinging onto Martin's hand as if his life depended on it. Martin has a pretty firm grip too, but neither man wants to leave the other.
Now they're on Martin's bed and Martin is almost naked. Danny is almost fully dressed. Danny won't let him reciprocate, but it doesn't seem that he wants to be dominate either. He seems solely focussed on making sure Martin has a great time and he's doing a damn good job of it too. Danny wants Martin to lose control, to know that it's ok to lose control, especially in front of him. Martin resists for a while, trying to think and analyse and evaluate even as he feels his brain cells fry and suppresses the urge to moan.
But Martin can feel that Danny needs this. He needs Martin to lose control, he needs Martin to trust him. And Martin does. The feel of Danny's lips on his skin is too much and he allows himself to finally lose control. He allows himself to grunt, and moan, and whimper and scream. He allows Danny to see him in a way that nobody else has ever seen him and is rewarded by Danny giving him the best blow-job he's ever had in his life. But that's when Martin realises, that's why this feels so different: It isn't just about sex; it's about love. And with that thought, Martin came.
Danny smiles as Martin tells him how great it was. But that smile slowly crumbles. When Martin takes him into his arms, Danny cries. All the pain and hurt and heartbreak he's ever had pouring out in the form of tears. Martin realises how much Danny must trust him to let him see him like this, and holds him even closer. It doesn't matter that Danny's still hard from giving Martin the blowjob, he's content just to lie in Martin's arms and cry himself to sleep.
It's Danny's way of proving that the relationship isn't built on sex.; it's built on trust and love. And as Martin drifts off too, he thinks that this is the better than he could have imagined because it isn't just a one-night stand: It's the beginning of a relationship.
