Shinra's nervous grin is far too wide and obvious to fool anyone into thinking that he's normal. Sweat drips down his forehead, almost unnaturally. He simply walks into the room, shoves the bouquet of flowers in the general direction of who he thinks he wants to give them too, and nervously shuffles away. Hibana is left to awkwardly observe the gift and wonder what variety of narcotics Shinra happens to be currently abusing. They're a bright pink, borderline white. Her mind snaps to the old botanical books she used to read, the hours she spent flipping through them in her time as a member of the Church.

Carnations?

Love.

She decides not to dwell on it too deeply, stifles a giggle, and runs off after the only member of the 8th she doesn't consider to be a brutish mongrel. Her feet fly fast enough to allow her to corner Shinra remarkably quick, and she plants a hand into the wall, barely a few inches from the side of his face. She holds the bouquet up to him, her face twitching with excitement.

"What are these?"

Shinra swallows from the lump in his throat and wonders if he did something wrong.

"Flowers, miss." He replies, in a tone that's trying to be formal and dignified. She isn't buying it.

"I get that, you idiot. But why?"

The words she's saying would be misconstrued as being derogatory, if it were any other situation. But her crimson face and slowly expanding smile reveal her intentions. Shinra just hopes that he's going to make it out of this with all his limbs. He begins to confound some story he makes up on the spot.

"Well, I planned to give it to S-Sister Iris, and uhm… you just happened to be there -"

She smiles and shoves the flowers into his face for emphasis, it interrupts his hasty excuse. "Hold this."

Shinra debates internally the point of that, but he grabs the flowers anyways. Hibana brings her hand up to his face, barely a few inches away; her index finger and thumb pressed closely together. He raises an eyebrow up at the action, only to be forced to blink by the sudden crack of a snap. His eyes widen in a form of amazement at the display before him. It's small compared to what Hibana can usually produce, but it gets the message across; a few swerving lines, wrapped around a flower of sorts. It's a mixture of white, red, blue, every color he can think off. Having fire so close to his face has never felt so good.

Hibana smiles and leans closer as the flames quickly burn out. Any closer and they would be kissing, and she wagers that such a feat isn't but a minute or so away, with Shinra's declining resistance.

"But you're my idiot, I suppose."

She leans forward, and their lips connect. It doesn't last very long, but it's enough to send Shinra's brain into an inferno of emotions. It's more than a little confusing, and he isn't entirely sure what he thinks about it, other than that it's unmistakably satisfying. Hibana breaks the kiss almost painfully slow, and smiles again. She stands herself back up to place herself above him, before ruffling her hand through his deep black hair and quickly securing the flowers for herself.

"Now be a good boy and don't do anything stupid anymore, okay?

Another wide, nervous grin; he can still see the mark he left on her face the first time they touched. It pains him a bit to look at, even if he doesn't regret it.

"Yes ma'am."
