The Face of Boe
The Doctor next to me, Hame on the other side. Martha walking in and I looked at her and remembered so long ago and how she hadn't changed a bit.
I remember telling them "Face of Boe they called me!" and walking off. I wonder if they knew I would end up here…
"What's that?" Martha asked then.
"It's the face of Boe," the Doctor replied. "It's alright, come say hello. And this is Hame, she's a cat don't worry."
If I could smile I would've. "He's the one that saved you, not me."
"My lord gave his life to save the city, and now he is dying," Hame said her eyes shining with love for me. I had told her to not call me that. But she insisted.
"No don't say that, he'll alive yet," the Doctor insisted. That was a lie.
"It's good to breathe the air once more," I say, heaving a breath.
"Who is he?" Martha asked. If I could laugh I would've.
"I don't even know. Legend says the face of Boe has lived for billions of years. Isn't that right?" he asks looking at me. "And you're not about to give up now."
"Everything has it's time. You know that old friend, better than most," I tell him.
"Legend says more," Hame starts.
"Don't, there's no need for that."
"It says that the face of Boe will speak his final secret to a traveler." Very true, Hame, I think to myself.
"Maybe but not yet. Who needs secrets, eh?" he says, I can see the slightest of panic flickering in his eyes.
"I have seen so much, perhaps too much, I am the last of my kind, as you are the last of yours, Doctor," I say. Martha turns her eyes to his and the Doctor's fill with pain.
"That's why we have to survive," He insists. "Both of us."
I sigh. "Don't go," he says.
I can feel it within me, my final death. "I must, but know this Time Lord, you are not alone." His eyes widen. I sigh then, a massive weight being lifted off me. I feel relief flood throughout my being and peace.
Ianto… I'm coming home. I think and I feel a tightening in my lungs and then I see his face.
My body is there again, I touch my face and it is young. But Ianto, Ianto is there. My eyes prick with tears.
"Do you remember me?" Ianto asks. "I've waited so long."
A tear slips down my cheek. "I do Ianto, I said I'd never forget," I open my arms wide, he runs and slams himself against me.
I wrap my arms around him tight, I feel him sigh against me. "I've missed you so much, so, so much."
"I know, I know Ianto, I know," I mumble into his neck.
He lets me go and crashes his lips to mine, his hands digging into my hair.
I'd kissed and been kissed a thousand times before and after Ianto, but this was special, it was Ianto. My Ianto Jones.
I've never read or written that much Torchwood/Doctor Who fanfic sorry if this has been done before. I just watched Children of the Earth again and was crying like a baby so I wrote this. Don't kill me…
