A/N: Written for the A Prompt Per Pokemon Challenge, Teddiursa prompt A – write about a hard-core Teddiursa.

Teddiursa Training Camp

Teddiursa were often cute – deceptively so. But that only spoke about their appearances. Their mannerisms could very quite drastically.

Like the first teddiursa she'd had, the one that was now her ursaring, had been sweet and cuddly and hated battling and was just what she'd expected from a cute teddy-bear looking pokemon. But the one that hatched from at ursaring's egg was another kettle of fish. He was a menace on the battlefield. Hated to lose. The perfect fit for a battle maniac –

Except she was a breeder. She hardly ever battled and she certainly didn't like doing it. And it was more than the battling. Teddiursa had his own training regime, his own style, his own image, and wouldn't accept any of her attempts to mellow it out. He was also determined to make the other pokemon work out – which worked to her favour because it kept them healthy and in tip top shape, but not all the pokemon were thrilled to be ordered around by a little orange drill sergeant. It was almost like a little training camp with the thorns of rebellion growing in it. Amusing, except when she had to break up the squabbles that resulted.

And teddiursa wasn't getting the challenges he wanted either. That sort of character reminded her of pokemon like the machamp that ran the forest a little ways ahead. The sort of pokemon who could lead a pack in the wild and keep it safe – but not a breeding centre. She was there for that. And teddiursa was creating friction amongst the pokemon. A gang, almost, even if the thoughts were innocent.

She hoped a strong trainer would come along soon. Or Pokemon Rangers, she thought. Teddiursa would do well there. Not in contests though. Not in breeding centres. Not in day cares –

Or maybe in a day care. The little training regime teddiursa had built up might actually work quite well there.
