One said family was everything. Mokuba bitterly agreed to this. His brother had died. His brother's wife and her brother were in silent mourning. Right now, Mokuba was the only one who could support his in-laws.
Things were complicated enough as they were. But they were even more complicated. For Mokuba had developed romantic feelings for his brother's wife's brother.
And the object of his affection didn't even notice his feelings. He was too busy regretting his past deeds.
And even worse, his in-laws decided to return to underground maze they lived in. Something about fulfilling their duty.
Their duty. Their duty was to live in darkness for almost an eternity. Mokuba shuddered. He couldn't really blame Marik for what he did. Mokuba knew that if he were in his shoes, he would have done the same.
Mokuba resolved to strip the Ishtars of their duty and therefore, their misery. He picked up the phone and dialed someone.
"Yugi?" he spoke as soon as he got trough "I need to speak to Yami."
"Okay, wait a second."
Mokuba heard inevitable sound of Yugi transforming.
"Mokuba, I am here." Yami said.
"Listen, I need you to leave Yugi's body completely and transfer your spirit to the Puzzle."
"And then you'd come to collect it."
"Yes."
"What will you do with it?"
"Reunite you with your original body, Atem." Mokuba said.
"Let me guess. Once I return, their duty is void."
"Now you're catching on." Mokuba chuckled.
There was a hearty laugh on the other end.
"Okay, I was planning to return to being a Pharaoh anyway."
"Okay, I'm coming in half an hour." Mokuba said and hung up.
When Mokuba arrived, Yugi was waiting for him with the Puzzle.
"He told me of your agreement. Here, take it."
Mokuba did.
"Goodbye, Yugi." Yami said from the Puzzle.
And Mokuba left.
His driver was waiting for him and they headed straight for airport.
Once there, Mokuba put the Puzzle around his neck and boarded the plane for Egypt.
It took them eight hours to arrive.
As soon as Mokuba got out, he searched for something that leads underground. Finally, he saw a lid Marik and Ishizu spoke to him about. He quickly lifted the lid and went downstairs. He used a candle to navigate.
Finally, he reached a main chamber. Ishizu and Marik were there, playing Duel Monsters together."
"I summon Obelisk the Tormentor." Ishizu declared
"Like that card because it belonged to your deceased husband?" Marik teased
"Hey, I was the one who gave it to him in the first place!" Ishizu protested, blushing crimson.
"Did someone mention my onii?" Mokuba asked, loud enough for Ishtars to hear
"Mokuba? What are you doing here?"
"Is this a way to greet someone who can enable you to live in the light?" Mokuba asked
Marik and Ishizu gaped
"Take me to Pharaoh's tomb, now! And bring some tools for digging, while you're at it."
Marik and Ishizu immediately did as they were told.
Soon, the Pharaoh's tomb was dug out and his body cleaned of any dirt. Upon the process completion, Marik and Ishizu placed it onto a stone table.
Then Mokuba removed the Puzzle from his neck and placed it on Pharaoh's neck.
"Yami, enter your body." Mokuba ordered
As Marik and Ishizu watched, Pharaoh's eyes slowly opened and he glanced at the three. Mokuba pushed Marik and Ishizu down, forcing them to kneel.
"My Tombkeepers, I release you from my service. You can embrace the Light." Yami told Marik and Ishizu.
"Okay then, come with me to Japan." Mokuba proposed
"Sure."
The Pharaoh watched as Marik and Ishizu ascend the stairs.
", are you okay with that?" he asked, pointing at Marik and Ishizu lifting the lid.
"Of course, my king. That was your will." Was the reply
Yami smirked.
As soon as Mokuba, Marik and Ishizu were outside, Mokuba pulled Marik closer and kissed him.
"That's the way I feel." Mokuba said, after breaking apart.
"I feel that way too." Marik admitted.
