Matsuda groaned and hooked his arm over his face, so that his eyes were hidden in his elbow.

"Woah!" Misa chirped. "I know that sound! What's wrong, Matsui?"

The other task force members were all in the other room, talking about something relevant to the case. Matsuda had excused himself and immediately sought shelter sprawled on the sofa. And then Misa had come in.

"It's Sayu," Matsuda complained. "She said she would've considered going out with me if I were younger, but how can I change that? And the chief wouldn't let me go out with her anyways."

Misa put a finger to her lips and thought for a moment. Then her eyes widened.

"I've got it!" she cheered.

"What?" Matsuda said warily. "There can't be anything that could fix it."

"That's what you think," she said with an evil smile. "I know how we can cancel all of those things out!"

"How?" Matsuda said, moving his arm. His interest was piqued.

"I am going to show you how the professionals do it! I know for a fact this is what made Light love me," she said. "This is a little maneuver that my mother taught me in junior high! From my experience, it has a 98% success rate of getting someone's attention, AND when used appropriately it has an 83% rate of return on dinner invitation."

"Wow!" Matsuda said, looking awed. "You're talking in percentages, just like Ryuzaki! This has to work!" Misa giggled and took a bow.

"It's called the Bend and Snap. Watch this!"

She backed up into the center of the room.

"Gasp!" Misa said theatrically, standing on the plush carpet. "I think I dropped something on the floor that I need to pick up!" She smiled and then looked up to make sure Matsuda was watching. "So you bend….." she leaned down, "and SNAP!" She straightened up perkily, striking a pose. "See? Come on, you try it!" She gestured for Matsuda to join her on the carpet.

He stood beside her, and she looked at him so she could watch his movements.

"Okay, beeeend," she sang.

Matsuda leaned down to the floor carefully, so he was almost touching his shoes. "And SNAP!" He shot up, trying to imitate what Misa had done.

"Okay," she mused. "Uum. Okay. Yeah. A little less bend, a little more snap."

Matsuda leaned down and tried again, this time managing to replicate Misa's first demonstration.

"Good job!" Misa congratulated him. "Don't you feel empowered!"

"Yeah!" Matsuda cheered, jumping up with excitement. He leaned down and snapped back up again, doing it perfectly for the second time. "Sayu, here I come!"

He skipped out the door happily, humming something. Misa put her hands on her hips and smiled.

There I, Misa-Misa, go, making the world a better place for love.
