"Hey Armin… I've been thinking…" Eren glances at Armin, the light from the setting sun brings out the color and definition in his face.
"What about?" Armin asks, his feet dangle off the wall edge that they're sitting on.
"Well… I want to join the Survey Corps." Eren looks down, trying to avoid direct eye contact with Armin.
"What?! Do you remember how dangerous that is?!" Armin yells out, shocked.
"Yes… I do…" Eren keeps his head down.
Armin just stares at him. He thinks for a moment and jumps up, startling Eren.
"If you're joining the Survey Corps… Then I will too!" Armin yells out to Eren.
Eren stares at him for a few minutes and gets up.
"Armin… That's crazy talk; you'll get killed for sure." Eren laughs weakly and puts his hand on Armin's shoulder.
"Eren I will join if you are joining, you are my best friend and I don't know what I would do if I lost you… I love… I love helping you Eren…" Armin blushes and looks away.
Eren grabs hold of his hands and squeezes them.
"Armin… You will never loose me… we will always have each other, no matter what," Eren pulls him in for a hug, "I promise."
Armin begins crying into Eren's shoulder, his tears bouncing off the fabric of Eren's shirt.
"He smells really good…" Eren thinks, "I want to tell him so much about how I feel about him… How much he really means to me… I just don't want to ruin our friendship… I can't loose him..."
Eren lifts his chin up.
"Hey Armin… I have a question…" Eren whispers as he looks straight into Armin's eyes and blushes a little, "is it possible for really good friends to be… Well… More than friends…?
Armin tries to look away from Eren.
"Umm… W-Well… I think so… I mean... Y-Yes…" Armin stutters and blushes.
Eren brings Armin's full attention back to himself. He wipes away the tear streaks from Armin's face.
"Armin…" Eren pulls Armin's face to his and kisses him.
Armin's eyes widen with surprise and when Eren notices he pulls away quickly. Armin tries to speak, but when he opened his mouth, no words came out.
"Armin I am so sorry I couldn't help myself… It just happened…Please don't hate me it's just… I think I love you… I couldn't hold it anymore…" Eren slowly backs further away from Armin.
Armin is immobilized by what had just happened.
"N-No I don't hate you…Especially over something like that! I-I just thought that you had tripped into me or something and I was afraid that if I kissed back you would think I'm weird and never talk to me again… I was scared because… Because I know I love you…" Armin says quietly.
Eren stares at him shocked and runs up and hugs him tightly.
"I should have told you sooner, I'm so sorry…" Eren smiles uncontrollably.
Eren shoots a glance towards the setting sun.
"You know… We can't tell Mikasa about us joining the Survey Corps right? She would kill us both before the Titans would ever get the chance." Eren laughs.
"I promise I won't tell her…" Armin trails off and looks a bit upset.
"Armin? What's wrong?" Eren tries to pull him back.
"Are we going to keep 'us' a secret too…?" Armin asks.
Eren stares at him surprised then looks down.
"I think we should for now… It's getting late, we should go home…" Eren says sullenly.
Armin stares at the ground and sighs. He begins walking slowly. Eren thinks. He smiles and grabs Armin by the arm and pulls him back. Eren kisses him again, this time, Armin kisses back. Eren grabs Armin's hand and starts walking.
"Until someone brings it up, it's not technically requiring the need to be a secret," Eren looks at him and smiles softly, "Don't worry Armin, we will always be together, always have each other. Without shame or regret. I promise."
