An abnormally large forehead. Rosette colored hair. Emerald green eyes.

She was a freak.

It was a well known fact.

She was the reason her father drove himself to the brink of suicide before suffering a stroke.

They would never know, her father beat her till she was black and blue.

The small village of three hundred believed that she was born to a mentally unstable mother and it explained why she, herself was so different. It made her small, five year old frame shake and salty warm tears spill down her dirtied cheeks. It was if, bullying the small girl was another pleasure filled method to achieving nirvana.

Push the freak around, kick her upside till she was down.

They would never know that her Mother was long dead.

She was an orphan and she was broken.

"You're pretty."

"What?"

"Your eyes.. I like them. "

When she met him for the first time, her lip was bruised and swollen. An oozing red liquid gushed from a cut on her forehead and stained her plain white cotton dress―her only dress. She lay limply in the heap of dried grass, staring intently at the sky. Emerald orbs observed the clouds with a content smile, her body succumbed to all the pain it received.

That was all she was ever given.

Hurt.

She was the freak, she did not need love.

"What are you doing out here, alone?" A soft male voice echoed into the clearing. She looked up dazzlingly at the small raven haired boy. His onyx eyes shone brightly and his hair stood up at odd ends. He scowled at the girl, when she chose to remain silent.

"This is my families property, weird girl." He stepped closer and looked down at the girl. His black eyes took in her appearance in mere seconds. "Oi, You're hurt." She nodded her head and tensed when he sat down next to her. He looked down at her and offered her a hand.

"Let my mommy fix you up."

She smiled and he was lost for words.

" I want to fly!"

" Hn. Shut up."

"You're so mean. Let me dream!"

"If you learn to fly, you'll leave me."

.

.

"I love you."

"Hn."

"I know we are only 19 but I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

"Ah."

He smirked.

She smiled.

The moment he walked into her life. Cuts didn't even bleed and pain did not hurt. She didn't hurt.

She didn't hurt

because she was happy.

He made her happy.

He was mean to everyone else. He was cold ever since his family had been slaughtered at the age of eight.

She was special.

She was a moth and he was attracted to her light.

She was his.

and she kept him sane

because just like her he was broken too.

.

.

.

Maybe, just maybe he could learn to love her too.

He needed her as much as she needed him.

He was her high

and she was his addiction.

Together they were beautifully dysfunctional.

.

.

Even the freaks need love.
