A/N: Wow it's been ages since I did one of these. I still have a couple of prompts to get done XD almost finished the lot though, only three more to go!
Warning: Slash, Remussy cuteness.
Disclaimer: JKR owns. Also when I was trying to type disclaimer, I accidentally put discutotifur for some reason. Baaah I can't spell :L
Challenge: People on Bebo and LiveJournal are giving me prompts for Sirius/Remus fics, and I'll write one (or just biff the lot and write whatever I want) per day, posting them there, and here. This'll go on for the whole of May, so feel free to pop over to my LJ (link in my profile) and drop me a prompt!
Prompt: None but rereading an old fanfic of mine and realising exactly how cute Remus is all over.
Hugs
Remus had always liked to hug.
Of course, Sirius was known for tackling people indiscriminately all over the place. James partook of this sometimes too, and even Peter enjoyed the occasional hug.
None of them compared to Remus though. He just liked to hug.
Maybe it was the fact that there really was someone there for him, someone he could physically feel. Maybe it was the human contact. Maybe he just liked being close to people. Whatever the case, Remus really liked hugs.
By now the other Marauders were all used to his hugging, and Sirius especially seemed to really appreciate it.
On one day that wasn't really any special day, Remus walked up into the dorm, finding Sirius there alone. Sirius had only just gotten up and dressed, and was putting his pyjamas in his trunk. He looked up, grinning when he saw his friend.
"Morning, Remus." He beamed, opening his arms for the inevitable hug.
Sirius was not disappointed, and Remus grinned, wrapping his arms around Sirius' waist. Sirius' arms went around Remus' back, and both boys smiled.
"How are you?" Remus asked, voice slightly muffled by Sirius' shoulder.
"Alright. Bloody tired." He chuckled. "Morning should really start at lunchtime. I think everyone would be a lot happier that way."
"No matter when we start the morning, you'll always get up late, Sirius. It's kind of a given." Remus grinned.
"How are you?" Sirius asked, ignoring Remus on purpose.
"Not great." Remus sighed. "It just hit me all over again what I could have done." The Whomping Willow Incident had only occurred a week before, and Remus was still taking it pretty hard. Sirius had, despite what he felt he deserved, been forgiven instantly.
"Are you okay?" Sirius asked softly, lifting one hand up from their long-lasting hug to stroke Remus' hair gently.
Remus started to nod, then shook his head. When he spoke his voice was thicker than usual. "I just need someone to hold me right now."
Sirius nodded, clinging on tighter. Remus clutched the back of Sirius' shirt in his fists, pressing slightly wet eyes into his friend's shoulder. Sirius stroked him gently, giving Remus whatever support he needed.
"Thank you so much, for being here for me." Remus whispered, pulling back and looking into Sirius' eyes with his own wet ones.
"It-" Sirius started to say, but Remus cut him off, pressing soft lips to his. Sirius jumped in shock, but decided to just go with it, and deal with things later, returning the kiss gently.
Remus pulled back. "I'm sorry."
"Don't be." Sirius smiled shyly, for the first time in his life.
Remus smiled back, and their lips met once more.
