She was sitting at the end of the bar, sipping quietly from the Long Island in front of her. He was wary at first. Donna was one of those women you couldn't take at face value. Louis Litt had learned that the hard way. The Pearson Hardman Belated New Year's party was in full swing and most everyone was drunk and squirreled away in a corner. He'd have to talk to the new associates about inter-office relationships. He wrinkled his nose at the thought of actually having to talk to them face to face. He would send a memo first thing in the morning, or have Norma send one.

Louis waved to the bar tender to get him another drink and when Donna looked at him, he asked for another Long Island as well.

"Feeling generous tonight?" Donna raised an eyebrow at him. Her speech was the same as when she wasn't drinking, but Louis wasn't fooled. He doubted Donna ever let anyone see her with anything less than her normal put togetherness.

"Tis the season," Louis shrugged and took a drink of his scotch. He set the glass back down on the bar and turned back to the room. "No one to cuddle with tonight?" He asked as yet another couple headed for the stairwell.

Donna gave a snort of laughter. "Cuddle? Please, Louis, you insult me. You know as well as I do that office romance is frowned upon."

"Really, because I would have thought that you and Harvey..." Louis trailed off and let the implications lie.

Donna actually did a spit take with her drink and started laughing. Her shoulders started to shake and Louis gave an annoyed look to the room as he waited.

"Me and Harvey?" Donna almost lost it in another fit of giggles. "Louis, the man is a well-dressed, slick haired, asspants-wearing, fortress of solitude. He can sleep with any woman he lays his eyes on, but I am not a notch in Harvey's bed post."

"Did you just say asspants?" Louis looked confused.

"Asspants? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard." Harvey gave a laugh as he walked over to the bar for another drink. "Louis, stop corrupting my secretary."

Louis gaped as Harvey took his drink and walked back to the party.

"See, asspants," Donna nodded seriously as she stared at her boss.

Louis saw Donna the next morning and the woman wasn't exhibiting any signs of being hungover, but Louis wasn't sure that Donna hadn't been drunk at the party. Who said asspants without being drunk?
