Tony was sitting at the bullpen, doing some paperwork. Incredibly, he was the only one there, it felt strange, because he leaved home thinking he was late. But when he came out of the elevator, he just saw Berry from the HR. He wished good morning and sat at his desk.
Half an hour later, his computer bipped signaling that an email had arrived. When he opened and read it, he was surprised and by the time he had stopped reading, he heard the famous 'ding' from the elevator, and seconds after his partner in crime and the computer tech walked in, laughing.
They continued their little talk, until Ziva looked up from her computer to him.
"Everything alright, Tony?" She asked and Tony smiled to himself as he noticed the concern in her voice, but quickly answered.
"Actually, no. Did either of you check up your email today?" He asked to his two coworkers.
"No Tony, we just came out of the elevator." She answered as if it was obvious, shaking her head.
"Well, you should've, cause I'm a hundred percent positive that the boss man won't have a good day. Neither will us." Just as he finished his explanation, Gibbs stormed in the bullpen angry, but in his usual pace.
"Something's wrong boss?" McGee asked, his eyes widened. Just as Gibbs had prepared himself to answer, Abby came in the bullpen in her Abby-way: jumping, smiling and carrying a caf-pow.
"Hey guys, did you hear the news?" She asked excitedly and everyone stayed quiet, waiting for somebody to answer.
"Someone, please, tell me what is going on!" Ziva pleaded exasperated, frustration hitting her voice.
When Tony opened his mouth to explain, they heard the director calling from upstairs. The team quickly got up, as Gibbs rolled his eyes and murmured something that just him heard. When the were mid stairs, they heard Vance speak again.
"You too, miss Sciuto." In his serious tone and walked back to his room. Abby's eyes widened but she jogged to catch up with the rest of the team.
They were all in front of director's desk, waiting for him to talk.
"Well, so certainly, you all know the reason i called you up here, yes?" Vance questioned but noticed Ziva and McGee shaking their heads negatively. He glared at Gibbs who defensively, put his hands up in mock surrender.
"Didn't have chance." He said motioning to the place where they were now. Vance half smiled and continued.
"This team, like others NCIS teams, was chosen to participate to the summer team building activities. This summer."
"But we do not need team building exercises. Our team is ve..." Ziva started to protest, but was cut off by Vance.
"Agent David, I'm aware of the union of team Gibbs, but I'm afraid to tell you that this decision was up to the SecNav, and many other governmental agencies will be there too." He answered and she just nodded, not in agreement but politely. "Well, you leave tomorrow morning, at 0700, so don't be late. You are going to the White Green Camp Resort at California, and won't come back for the next two weeks. For more information consult you respective emails. Any other question?" When none of them were affirmative, he continued. "Good. You can leave now." And they nodded and leaved his room, back to the squad room.
