This book takes place shortly after Warriors: Vision of the Shadows, Shattered sky. Please tell me if I missed out any details (like name changing, deaths etc.) I haven't read it yet.
"Wake up!" A voice shouted.
Featherkit jolted up with fear. "What is it?" the silver tabby gasped. "Badgers? Twolegs? Rouges? Or is it… Foxes?" She shuddered at the thought of the flame-colored creature. It had once raided the camp when she was little. She couldn't remember much, but her mother had been scarred badly and a queen had to take her place until she was better. She was so little back then, and that had frightened the daylight out of her.
"Hush, Jaykit. You're up very early. Not even the warriors have awoken." Twigtail murmured. "You too, Featherkit." It was only midnight and the clearing was empty. Twigtail lay down and went to sleep.
"Hey, Featherkit, Mom's asleep!" Jaykit told her. "We can go out now!" The two kits tumbled out into the open.
"Hey, who are you?" Featherkit squealed. A pale ginger cat sat in the clearing, gazing upon the sky. She turned to see the two kits padding up to her. They tried to pounce on her, but instead they crashed through her, landing head first on the ground.
"Are you okay?" Jaykit poked her with one paw.
Featherkit sat up and gazed at the mysterious she-cat in amazement. "You must be from Star Clan!" She reached out her forepaw and it went right through the Star Clan warrior. Feather kit's fur bristled as she retreated her paw. "Ow, that hurts!"
"I'm Sandstorm, Alderheart's grandmother." she angled her ears to the stars above them. "And yes, I am from Star Clan."
Jaykit and Featherkit exchanged glances.
"She's Firestar's mate!" Jaykit hissed excitedly. They started squealing.
Sandstorm smiled at the two kits' excitement. "Quiet right, young ones. Now listen closely… I have a prophecy."
Featherkit and Jaykit's eyes widened. "Go on…" they urged.
"The sun is rising…" She began.
"We know that." Jaykit put in his blue-gray fur now orange under the sun's rays.
Featherkit silenced him with a glare, remembering what her mother did when they were too loud. "So… the sun is rising…?"
"And along with that rises hope." Sandstorm finished. "Well, I must go. Say hi to Alderheart for me!" With that, Sandstorm rose to the sky, disappearing in an instance. Heartbeats later, a white and silver tabby walked out of the warriors' den, a gray she-cat next to her. They stopped in their tracks.
"Jaykit, Featherkit, what are you doing out here? You'll freeze!" The tabby cried.
"Ivypool, Dovewing! You won't believe what just happened!" Featherkit sprinted up to the warriors a look of confusion and excitement on her face.
"Come on then, spill!" Dovewing ordered.
"It was Sandstorm!" Jaykit and Featherkit chorused.
