A/N: I finished reading TLH and I sort of pictured the Son of Neptune to be like this. Enjoy, and please, review :D ps- i also put up chapter 2 to Emerge

Jason was surely glad to be back at the Roman Camp. He thought it would be extremely difficult but things had worked out just fine. Turns out Reyna was just a really good friend, and he finally got the guts to ask Piper out. Leo was being Leo, enough said. As for Annabeth, Percy remembered her and the last he saw them was making their way towards the beach, fingers intertwined.

But something kept on nagging him, something he thought he knew, but really couldn't put his finger on it.

He let it pass; after all, he remembered almost everything from his past. Jason went looking for Annabeth as they were going to have to go back to the Greek camp and strategize battle plans.

He went inside the Minerva cabin, and frowned. It was almost midnight, and she was supposed to meet him there.

"She's at the Neptune cabin with Percy." A voice said from behind him, "She hasn't seen him for months, so things got a wee bit intense."

Jason looked around to see no one. But then suddenly, as if woven out of air, she appeared. Height around 5"9, she was dressed in a purple t-shirt, baggy pants, flip flops and a big mischievous smile. She had straight black hair with a few red streaks falling down her slim waist and brown eyes with a troublesome gleam. And then it hit him. The thing that had been bothering him all day: he had forgotten his best friend.

"Hey Jason." She said with a questioned tone. "Remember me?"

It all came back to him in one second, and all he could muster was a muffled, "Dakota?"

She smiled with relief. "Aw come on, you had to remember me?"

"How could I ever forget Rebel Roberts?" Jason exclaimed and embraced her like a lost sister, taking in her scent so he could never forget her.

She was hugging him just as tightly and never seemed to want to let go. "I missed you so effing much." Jason said.

"I'm never all mushy so I'll just say: when you were gone I didn't feel like pulling pranks."

Jason pulled back in mock surprise. "Whoa, I never knew you could stop pulling pranks."

"I know right? Look what you've done to me!" she punched his shoulder. He laughed, memories gushing back to him faster than winter winds.

"J-Jason?" Piper's voice stuttered, "What are you doing?"

Jason's face froze. "Um…I …um…" he stumbled stupidly.

"Piper, daughter of Aphrodite, and Jason's girlfriend, hey." Dakota said.

Piper looked surprised. 'How do you-?"

"I'm a daughter of Aeolus, I can anticipate thoughts averted through your eyes." She replied simply, "Oh, and Jason is like my brother, it's disgusting to even think about him like that."

Piper's expression changed. "Wow, that's awesome. I mean, your powers." She blushed.

"But I'm more of a sidekick than a hero, really." Dakota shrugged. "Yeah, okay Jason, you get your alone time with Piper."

Jason wasn't sure who was redder; him or Piper.

"Aw, Dakota…" Jason said, clearly embarrassed.

Dakota smiled slyly, "But I need to go finalize my plans anyway."

Piper looked confused. "On what? The battle?"

"Nah, my prank." She smiled widely before disappearing into the wind.

"Uh oh, what is she up to now?" Jason gulped.

'Guess we have to find out." Piper sighed. "You've got such crazy friends."

"But she is the best of them all." Jason commented.

BOOM!

"Yikes." Jason grabbed Piper's hand and they made their way to the sound of the explosion.

A/N: So what do you think? I wanted to write something different other than going in depth to thalia, so there you go. Also I wanted to come up with a troublesome mischievous character, i told you I love comedy :)
