A/N: This has major spoilers for the finale trailer. It didn't look like anyone has picked up on the like nanosecond clip in the trailer with Zuko, but I'll let the story explain. I'm seriously praying that this doesn't happen. It's all from Zuko's point of view.
I see the lightning shooting towards the Avatar and I act on instinct. His destiny is to defeat my father and bring peace to the world at long last. And this is my destiny I know it is. I have taught him how to firebend, there is one last thing I must do. So I jump in front of the lightning.
The pain, oh my gosh, the pain is horrible. It's tearing through my body and I can't breathe. The noises around me become muffled as I fall backwards onto the ground, arms outstretched. The fight continues, but at least now the Avatar has a chance.
I try to sit up, but I can't do it, I don't have the strength and the pain is too great. But then someone is there, lifting me up. I hiss in pain as the movement sends more fire through my chest, but then I see her face. She's crying.
"Hold still," she whispers, "I'll heal you, just hold on."
"Katara," I gasp, "it's too bad. Not even you can deal with this one."
"I can't just let you die," she sobbed, her tears falling down onto my cheek. "Please Zuko, don't do this to me now."
"I knew this was always a possibility Katara, but it's worth it, to know that you will have a safe world to live in. Just promise me one thing," I whisper as the world starts to fade away into darkness.
"Anything Zuko, anything."
"Don't let this moment rule the rest of your life. I want you…to be happy…"
It's getting harder and harder to breathe and I'm going numb. I can't even feel the ground beneath me anymore.
"Please Zuko, don't leave me. I love you."
"I will…never leave you…Katara…I love…you…"
The darkness completely fills my vision and I slip away…
A/N: Yeah, I know, really weird and angsty, but I saw the clip of him on the ground with a giant lightning wound on his chest and now I'm really nervous about Saturday night. Zuko's my favorite character so I really hope that he doesn't die. I firmly believe that if he survives, it's going to be Zutara galore!
